Default New 992.2 Electrical Issues

I took delivery of a 992.2 Carrera last Friday, Lugano Blue w/ the Night Blue Interior - great interior color by the way. On the first drive ~10 miles in I got an engine oil over temp warning (302F), pulled off road and turned car off and waited for a few mins, turned back on and went back down to ~220, was a little hard to believe it was overheating because I was babying the car... Other drive I would tried was met with no power steering error on startup and the latest was a reduced engine power on startup. The only error while driving has been the engine oil temperature which is sporadic. I charged the battery overnight and it took a charge but still seeing the errors. Car has been with the service center since the weekend, bad timing with the holidays.

Curious if anyone else may have has seen issues like this? My Porsche Service Center is chasing ground/software issues. Hoping to get the car back soon, the few drives have been awesome!

That's a bummer with a new car during the holidays.

Unrelated. Can you post up pics of the night blue interior?

I've always been quite keen on blue interior cars and have not seen this color in person (other than in the configurator). I do love Yachting Blue, Graphite Blue, etc.

Just reject it. I did on a 992.1 with drivetrain issue.

Not your fight. Get them to get you another one and loan you one in the meantime.

I only have about 300 miles on my 992.2 (lots of rain here lately) but I have experienced none of the issues you are referring to. Weather has been cool/cold and I'm keeping revs under 4K for the next couple of hundred miles before I start gradually ramping up, but oil temp has been in the 190-200 range. I hope you get your problems resolved soon.

Might consider charging battery with a tender. That is my plan immediately after delivery in March.

Hopefully it’s traceable to one component. If not, I agree this is not your battle and the car should be replaced.

I picked mine up last week in December and just had it shipped to Florida for winter. I Got delivered this morning, went for a little drive, and got the high-temperature warning. I had 8 miles on it when i picked it up and put 20 miles on it this morning.

Pardon the dirty floor mats but it’s winter here in Cleveland. Here’s some shots of my night blue interior. It’s a very dark blue, like navy mixed with slate gray. I love it with my ice grey metallic exterior.

Very nice, yep, love it. Very classy and masculine, I like it alot. Did you do some deviated stitching color or is that how it comes?

And any luck on the electrical issues?

I had the same issue driving mine home the night I got it. Did the same thing and got the same result

Since that day, I've had two issues as well I wanted to chime in with:

1. My LCD screen turned a purple hue while I was driving to work (~ 5 miles away). Got to work, restarted, all good. (see photo)

2. My LCD screen did not turn in Friday. Could not see the backup camera, no music would play. Took it to the dealer, they said it was a "voltage issue". Showed them the pictures of the purple screen; they said they had no idea.

Will post here if/when other issues appear.
