I gave the dealer my build code and deposit on November 6. I was told I would have an allocation slot within 15 days. I am still waiting. I live in Los Angeles so there are a lot of Porsche dealers around. It’s not like the dealer I used is the only game in town.
I am Portland area and I called and got an allocation the same day back in August (person cancelled that morning). Now I am just waiting as my car sits forever in lot after lot on its way to me
How long did you guys wait for 992.2 base allocations? I know it's dealer dependent, just trying to get an idea of a range.
There are SO many base Carreras in stock or inbound now. Unless you're trying for something really bespoke, you can likely find your spec combo available or inbound to a dealer already. Try the search filters nationwide on Porsche.com: https://finder.porsche.com/us/en-US/...der=price_desc
When I ordered my 992.2 from incoming stock in June there was almost none inbound on Porsche's site and the dealers were hiding the few they each had incoming. By the time my car arrived, there were 6 in the exact same spec at dealers.
Edit. I see they are. I was confused because I had not noticed it on the configurator originally. I also posted this in the wrong thread. Apologies all around.
Just remember that these allocations are a game - if the dealers can sell the slots over MSRP, there is no first-come-first-served list. They just skip right over you. I waited 10 months for an allocation (MSRP) that never came, switched dealers, and an unspoken for S allocation came in a few weeks later and I was on my way. As said above, they appear to have many unspoken for build slots if they are building cars for dealer stock - try other dealers, bigger dealers, with more slots.
I was lucky. Visited the 5 local dealers and found a salesman I liked. Called to schedule a visit to configure the car and he told me that he had an allocation for me. Placed the order in early November with expected Delivery late Feb/early March.
This is perfect as the weather would be getting a bit nice at that time. I am paying MSRP.
OP here - just got a random call from my local dealer about a CPO car I wasn't interested in. I asked and he said he expects next round of base allocations at the end of this month/beginning of January. A single data point to be taken with a grain of salt, but it makes sense given that there have been no allocations in my region for the last month or two.
we were told in June ithe base could be available 6 months but to send them a build. we sent it in the next day, and were told a spot would be available for delivery in December. a few days after, they said it was moved up to October with a freeze date of 7/15, and we got it in mid October.
I’m working with a dealer who is saying they can get me an April/May allocation(992.2 Base) with a June/July delivery but what seems weird is they are telling me is the car is already in V200 status with a comm # assigned. They would just assign it to me once we complete the paperwork.
I thought once a car was in V200 status it goes into V220(LOCKED) in 30-60 days.
Is this normal for a car to sit in V200 status for 4-5 months?

Nothing is the same with the DOT 2 ordering process..
