Went on the list for a 4GTS cab allocation back in September. Was first on my dealer's list. Got a call two weeks ago that he had gotten a GTS cab allocation and asked if I wanted it. After some consideration ended up taking that one.
Interestingly enough, we have two dealers in the city, and when I first got the 4 GTS cab allocation the other dealer in town told me I'd be 15th on his list...not sure if he was just trying to push me to get a CPO or what the story was there. You'd think people would check in with both...

Theres quite a bit of vagueness as to what a list really means.

My dealer doesn't realy have a "list" in terms of "you're 3rd in line." Instead, they seem to just print out your build and then put it in a pile separated by model/trim (base, S, GTS, etc.). Then Porsche says "hey Dealer, you can have 1 base, 2 S and 1 GTS this month" and the dealer goes through the stack to choose which build they are most interested in offering and then call the customers to see if they're ready. I'm sure if you have "status" you get prioritized as well. I don't, however I was told that my build is "attractive" so they'll likely pick mine as its low risk to them if I back out - GT Silver, well optioned so it'll sell off the lot immediately. I don't know that this is 100% the process, but that's what I've pieced together after talking with my SA.
Kind of an annoying process. When I ordered my M3 is 2022 (have since sold it) my build went into the dealer's order management system, but not submitted to BMW. But this did however give a queue, I would pop in from time to time and he would show my name slowly moving up the list as allocations came in and preceding builds were submitted to the manufacturer.
I asked for an allocation at near the high point in April of 2023, got an allocation in May of 2024, delivery October 2024. Markets have loosened significantly since then. New car depreciation is back!!
I just turned down an allocation offer from my local dealer for a May build C2 GTS Coupe at MSRP, zero strings.
I actually had called to check on waitlists for the new S and they told me about it.
Looking for a build later in the year so had to pass.
Always opportunities out there I guess.

Were you on their list for awhile? I just got my S allocation yesterday so I'm not looking for one now, but just curious where it was. Ohio dealer? I got my S allocation in 3 days.

I'd be interested in that GTS allocation if you're willing to PM me the details!

I wasn't on the list at all lol.
They had me on the list for a 4 GTS from last fall but not the RWD.
The S list is currently quite long.
Much less obviously than their GTS lists
so i have a build code told my build has a lock- is there a way to check on status potential build dates etc? Im on the my porsche site but no info on my order there

I assume your sales guy would know. That's who told me that I was slated for April 1. The copy of the form he sent me from his software also showed the tentative delivery delivery date of May 9.
Finally got my allocation for a 992.2 Base. Started the process on Oct 27th and got my allocation Jan 15th with delivery in May. Car is estimated to lock in early February.
On a side note, the two local dealer here in the Sacramento area wanted ADM or for me to buy some items. A dealer on the Bay Area offered MSRP and will deliver the car to me at no additional cost, enclosed trailer.
