2. You should get your VIN once you enter production. It will just show up in TYD one day. I got mine a few days before it said I started production.

Does anyone know if any of the 992.2's have been released from US ports to dealerships yet? I heard that the EPA has to validate/certify the new generation vehicles before they can leave port destinations to dealerships. Just curious if anyone with a 992.2 has made it to the dealership yet. Thanks in advance.
My order did not make production before the summer holiday at the factory. There were two separate posts on the 992.2 thread that the release date of the 992.2 would not be until Sept 15. It looks like they have not received EPA approval yet. I am happy my car has not gone into production yet.

I posted this in the other thread:

My car is currently sitting in Jacksonville after being dropped off on Saturday. TYD dates range from tomorrow to 9/6 for delivery - does anyone have any recent experience coming out of jaxport? Car is going to a SC dealership. Thanks!

Allegedly in another 7 to 10 days. It is really anyone’s guess to the exact date.
Per past experience if all goes well at the VPC and it gets promptly loaded on a truck you should see it possibly early to mid week, maybe sooner? FYI, this is just a guesstimate.

Thanks Ratherjaded for starting this.
1. where is the duplicate new thread?
2. When are Vin numbers assigned to cars?
Thanks much TheDrivenGarage for answering my second question. You are right, the VIN was there in my porsche app.

This may or may not have been mentioned prior; I found something interesting on the TYD webpage. Even if it has not been updated, the GPS coordinates of the car appear to be live, they constantly change, or remain static depending on where the car is. I noticed this when I began digging further when the free version of "vessel tracker" websites stopped updating current position. In my case, "they" only list positions as of five days ago, as of today.
The "live" GPS coordinates for the car9or vessel?) are displayed under "current position --> location". These coordinates constantly change if the car is moving.
This is meaningless in a sense, the car will arrive when it does, but as the anxiety and curiosity builds after waiting, and knowing that TYD estimates and "ranges" are variable (and infrequent updated estimates), this can be at least an interesting way to tolerate it.
If not obvious, this data is derived from the "inspect/view source" data from the webpage, guide on how to achieve this has been posted many times.

What a beauty. and what car is it? Isn't the new dealer building amazing. I live in Naples, a few miles south of the dealer. Are you in one of the local Porsche clubs? We joined both to have more events
