Default HRE R101LW installed

Had to share after to getting these babies bolted up and share the specs.

HRE R101LW finished in brushed champagne

20x9 et42
21x12 et60

Love it. Might be a slight drop in my future. Undecided on that.

looking good! What did you have before and do you feel the weight difference driving? The LW’s are pretty leicht.

thanks! Had the RS spyders. First time driving it today. Is there a, “wow what a difference” - no I don’t think so. It did feel a bit lighter on its feet so to speak, but that could have been me really looking for it. However, this was a casual drive to the gym, maybe more noticeable once I really drive it.

Now just picking up the wheels themselves, I could feel a drastic difference from the OEMs for sure.

If I were to decide to sell the oem spyders, what are they worth? 3200 miles on them, ceramic coated, perfect condition.

992 has a lot of power, so it's harder to feel the difference. When I had installed R101s on my 993, the difference was dramatic.

that makes sense. Although since my last post I put some muscle into the right pedal and it does seem to scoot a bit harder.

I too share the same feelings with the car being quicker on its feet. I noticed the car stopped better and had better turn in charactertics too.

This is the exact wheels I’m planning to order!

Did you order direct through hre? How’s the fitment? Are you rubbing / do you wish you had gone further out? What tires did you go with?

Also curious if they had oem fitment. I think the wider tire is going to make steering feel heavier but the lightness of the wheels probably counteracts that.

In the "penultimate" tire weight thread these HRE LW's weight was listed as below (but the once OP has are a 0.5" less wide, i.e. likely even a little leighter than that).

20x9.50 ET45, 18.2lbs
21x12.50 ET48, 21.4lbs

I ordered through Wheels Boutique, they beat HREs direct price by 2k. No rubbing and fit great, on oem Michelin PS4 tires. When I need new tires I’ll probably go up one size in width (255 and 315).

I personally would not go any wider, or any more aggressive offset. I was a bit worried with this set up as is. Really didn’t want them sticking out, but they perfect in my opinion. I will be doing a small drop on KW HAS.

Had to take another pic leaving the gym.
