Where's my roof?
OK, probably a silly question...I ordered a car without a sunroof and assumed I would see the metal roof panel welded in place in the first pic from the factory. However, the car is painted and there is no roof? WTF?

The roof design of the 992 was designed as a modular type system so that whether metal, glass or no sunroof, carbon fiber or standard body, the chassis has a structural integrity, however the roof is a plug and play system for simplicity in the assembly line. Likely this picture is before the roof section was added in.
Either that or you have a one of a kind nod to Renault edition coming with a sliding back gathered canvas roof.

The solid roof is just a cover on the 992. Every car has a hole in the roof.

Thanks...I didn't know that! The last pic shows the roof panel but it has protection on it.

It gets painted separately from what I understand. Paint meters show it to have a much thicker paint than the rest of the car. You can search Rennlist for this.

On cars with metal sunroofs, that is the only panel that a magnet will stick too. Not sure if cars like this without sunroofs are the same?

The metal thickness was chosen to exactly match the weight of the glass sun roof, so as to not give fixed roof customers an unfair advantage on the track, in alignment with Porsches philosophy of "pay for performance". 😂 😂 😂

You did tick the ‘I want a roof’ option, didn’t you?
