Hybrid is safe compared to full EV . Porsche is clinging to ICE with the 911 . Hybrid is still ICE with a splash of legislative pacifying equipment . The EV Macan weights 1K more pounds than the current car . Gas is cheap, readily available , and there is little done to implement a full scale EV society . It got cold in Texas and they lost the grid . It got hot in California and they lost the grid , EV will bust it at the seams . Plus 1K extra pounds in every car will tear up roads and place strain on bridges . EV is a delusion and worst of all it's not going to be a choice . I care about polar bears . I sincerely do but this EV stuff has nothing to do with saving animals and everything to do with opportunists trying to sell it as some type of band aid to the most invasive species on the planet : us .
I completely agree. My residence is split between SoCal and Nevada. We’ve had grid issues for as long as I can remember. Rolling blackouts and brown-outs are common; we can’t run our A/C’s in the summer without the threat of an outage, but 100% of us are supposed to drive EV’s?!? Pipe dream! When it gets hot in Nevada, we have power issues and despite the huge solar complex near state line, much of Nevada’s power is fed by California. If California goes down, Nevada will have a major issue on their hands.
I feel like this is the paradigm of paralysis by analysis.

What exactly are the “nonsense fears” specifically? You’d be shocked how many drained and disabled Tesla’s I see in the hot desert during my drive to and from California/Nevada every week……and that’s despite at least 3 charging stations along that 250-ish mile one-way drive.
I did before I paid the down payment on my 992.2 GTS, the AD assured me 8 Years on the entire Hybrid System and 4 Years on the car.
It says "limted 8 year battery warranty"...at least in the North American market. I would think that if it included the entire hybrid system it would be clear on that. It is not. when it comes to what AD's say, it's trust but confirm.
It is substantially different from the 991.2 and 992.1. A hybrid powertrain with an electric boosted turbo is about as complicated as it gets.
Sharkwerks shared this 992.2 cutaway. It doesn’t look like a car that you want to deal with outside of the factory warranty. Their caption says it all.
I am puzzled why they put the electrics above the intercooler, is that true? Seems odd to me. I mean, replacing a hybrid battery is easy enough, as is a single turbocharger unit. Sounds like more common maintenance may suck.
