Default Thoughts on the Carrera Classic 5 Spoke Carbon Fiber Blade Wheels

With all of the chatter about the tech aspect of the new GTS 2, I just started looking at the wheel option. What do you think of these? Kind of like them if I were going full CF on the exterior but need to see them so that may take a while.

Looks are meh. But if they considerably reduce unsprung weight, I could learn to like the look more.

No specs on weight ofc but at least they forged and one would assume weight it lighter than any of the standard wheels

The barrels are going to be impossible to clean. Though I guess you won't be able to see it anyway.
The new ones are all ugly though. The Carrera classic looks to be the old exclusive ones and those are nice.

Don't like them at all.

Is CF yellowing due to UV exposure still a thing these days?

Design is meh. I can't imagine if curb rash is even fixable.

They are just separate parts like the taycan aeroblade wheels.
Most likely a couple of screws holding them in.

Overall, the wheels are meh to me but if one doesn’t want centerlocks, this and the newly designed Carrera S along with the Spyders are the limited choices before going aftermarket. Spyders are decent but if going with a newly offered variant (.2), it is still one I would consider. Curb rash though is real as I doubt they could be refinished easily.

Agreed. And probably just like the Taycan aeroblade wheels, the replacement carbon parts will be very costly. A friend was keen to get the carbon blades to convert regular aeroblade wheels into the carbon finish. I think each of the four sections needed for each wheel (i.e. you need 16 pieces in total) was $400.
