992.2 Configurator is up
#16
My 2024 C2 with the same options was $6,935 cheaper with like for like options. Porsche is really telling us they really aren't in the market to make you feel like you're getting any sort of value by now charging $1,500 for GR when it has been a standard color for over 20 years.

a few interesting tidbits:
- Smartphone compartment in the center console with wireless charging up to 15 W.
- Model Year 2025 992.2 911 models include physical HomeLink® buttons on the mirror. - Kinda Nice
- Tracking of driving behavior, user interaction and eye sight direction of the driver, there will be visual and acoustic warnings if distraction or indications of tiredness are detected. - Hmmm
- Rear Seat Delete
- No PDCC option
- Heated steering wheel standard
- Push start/stop button?

Guess I lucked out to be getting a 2024 C2S allocation that I managed to finally configure and submit yesterday before it disappeared from the website!
The lack of a manual transmission option now on any available to order 911 model is absurd.
no more heritage interior. Glad I spec’d it and the manual on my 992.1.

I’m sure that Porsche understands where their long term market is going and are marketing to the next gen buyers who want all the latest and greatest in their minds (new buyers). From digital screens, faster speeds, etc and the lack of a manual means very little to most. While we may or may not like it, this where it is going so you either accept it or find something else. What that something else is if you want new, I don’t know but it’s called “progress” I guess.

Honest question: how does Porsche justify charging $1500 for a color that has been $0 for the last 15+ years?
Follow-up question: why doesn’t upcharging for run-of-the-mill paint finishes get more scrutiny from consumers? I understand upcharging for PTS, matte finishes, etc. What I don’t understand is extra dollars for a basic metallic or non-metallic shade.

Yes. Except for China, but US customers are mopping up the extra allocations.
