PTS on GTS?
#16
Get whatever color you want. I just feel that spending $15k on something that should come with the car is wrong so I don’t. But if you have no problem with it, there are some awesome colors to get through PTS.

Porsche has heard the complaints and congratulations ROW, you will now be given more PTS allocations, sorry North America, your allocations have been reallocated. So starting next year there will be an expanded color palette, but as mentioned, less PTS spots for North America.

Not sure what his/her source is. If anything, I have hardly seen any non GT car in PTS where I live.

Heck yeah, go for PTS if you can financially justify it and are granted an allocation for it. Just don't waste the opportunity on some shade of gray.
PTS exists on pre-991 911s of all trims but it was just less popular. Looking back now, it was a relative bargain. Then it became popular just in time for allocations to became increasingly more difficult to come by and nearly non-existent during the 992 supply shortage years. As it picked back up, Porsche allocated most of the resources to the Heritage, Exclusive, and GT cars. Also, with the price hike on PTS to around $13K, that's roughly 10% on the price of a non-GT 911 making it harder for most to justify whereas that's only about 5% on a GT for an buyer pool who places higher importance on having builds that are very specific.

Go for it. I was fortunate enough to order a GTS PTS a few months ago, now scheduled for build in June to match my fully restored 1966 912 in original Irish green and light beige interior. Not too many allocations for GTS’s at my dealer and then they had to “request” the PTS, which was approved. Funny, how one has to ask permission for a $13k option. Looking forward to enjoying this car.

I agree with the others. If you can get a PTS allocation, take it! As for the color selection, get what you want, no matter what others might think about it being too similar to a non-PTS color. It is your car and your money. I have had numerous compliments from passers-by, over the years, on my light ivory 991.2 GT3 Touring, but I have also had RL'ers criticize my car for being too close to white. I included pictures of my car next to a white Touring. It is not white. One guy even said my car looked like it came unpainted from the factory. Ha, ha. I love it and that is all that matters. I hope you get the allocation and good luck in your PTS decision making process!

Building and selling more cars would seem to be the move as opposed to fewer cars w/ higher margins, especially if PTS is an small percentage of production

I went PtS (Black Olive) and PCCB, along with a manual. Best car I've owned.
