If your car is worth more than junk 10+ years later, consider it a win. Everything else is just gravy

not even watching this ****, but let me tell you:

1. its early summer - higher demand as people buy for the good weather
2. less cars on the market and no orders since 992.2 goes live in 2 weeks - less supply
1 + 2 = less depreciation

wait till 992.2 hits with confirmed bigger engines and way higher hp, you will see the fall in price.

Its a mass production car. Unless its limited edition like dakar or sport classic it will always go down with time/mileage driven. Really that simple.

So why are 991 gt3s currently selling for over sticker?

It is kind of funny for him to post a video like this when the 992.2 reveal is less than two weeks ago.
That announcement will be the first real test for 992.1 values.

There's clearly a big performance bump on deck and if the rumors of a big motor GTS are true, it's going to be wild.

They next one is *always* faster, meh. Not like they are gonna say, "it slower, but gets better mileage"...?

With some rare exceptions (and 911s are not), cars are not investments, they are consumable goods. The rate at which their value decreases over time is dependent on a number of variables. We are experiencing a very unique market for cars due to a lot of factors including COVID created backlog of demand, COVCID related higher savings levels, inflation and others. So the rate of depreciation may have slowed - even to zero - but they will depreciate.

It’s not that they’re going up in value, it’s that our dollars are worth less.

I own cars for the pure enjoyment. I don't care about any future resale price. This is a hobby.in which I get a lot of enjoyment.

I say the 911 will price lower one day.

I assume 50% depreciation over five years for my upcoming 992.1 C2S. Means it will cost me about $1.5K a month to drive the car. Anything less is gravy. I think we are exiting an irregular depreciation cycle and recentering a normal one.

It’s the power to weight ratio improvement that matters. The hybrid motor will weigh more too. Headline HP increase for the GTS / S will be up by 70 HP or so but weight also probably up by 100-200 lbs. Overall faster but not 15% faster, probably 7-10% which is inline with other mid cycle refreshes.
