Posted about this the other day but was able to capture on a short video. It’s a 2024 992 Carrera S and I am hearing an alarm/ringing sound after the initial cold start. Lasts about 5 minutes and goes away after warm up. Anyone else have this noise?

Normal for a 992 or a trip to the dealer to get it checked out?

If its that long beep sound, that doesnt sound normal to me. Dealer check out IMO.

It sounds like one of the pulleys spinning. It's a brand new car so don't experiment, just take it in.

I posted in your other thread, but I have the same sound on my ‘22 GTS.

The old guys have presbycusis; they can’t hear that frequency.

It's emissions related is my guess. For cold start. I'll have to have a listen to mine but what I'm hearing from the video doesn't sound that unusual.

Does the sound change with variation in the revs, even by a couple of hundred revs? If so, the pulley theory will add up.

Yes take it in. Waste an entire day to be told ‘normal’.

Good idea. Will test a small amount of revs to see if the noise subsides to rule out a pulley sound. Traveling on business. Will report back here on Wednesday.

Does this happen everywhere you park the car? One member posted a video of an annoying startup sound only to realize the sound was dramatically louder because of their garage configuration and the echo it was producing.

Anyways, doesn't sound terribly abnormal to me. There's definitely a bit of a high pitched whine on startup even on my car with 23k miles now.
