Default Corner Weights of my GTS 7MT

So I finally put my 2024 GTS 7MT with Centerlock wheels, carbon buckets, rear seat delete, stock sized gas tank, standard glass, standard roof, and a full tank of gas. The car does have PPF on the entire front, roof, and rear fenders. The weights below are with the Porsche plastic tub insert in the frunk (3.1 lbs) and the Lid Liner in the frunk lid (didn’t weigh that (guessing it’s around 5lbs).

I did jack up each side and place the scales under the wheels, versus driving the car up on my ramps and onto the scales. Not sure how much this affects the weight balance, if any.

Pretty happy with where the car landed (3317 lbs) and quite surprised at how close to 50/50 the left/right balance is.

For reference, a 2017 991.2 Carrera S manual weighed 3323 lbs, and a 718 GT4 manual weighed 3240 lbs, on these scales.

Love seeing data like this, thanks for sharing! I should try to weigh my porker spec GTS some time... Heated & cooled 18 ways, glass roof, Burmester, RAS/PDCC, full leather, and InnoDrive. At least the PCCBs will save me some weight!

Thanks for sharing! Anyone know if the aerokit wing saves weight over the electric spoiler?

I also expected the GT4 to weigh a lot less. Wow!

You’re welcome, and yes, you should. Please do it with a full tank of gas, to minimize guesswork.

I think there’s just a wide variance in the weight of 911s given the number of options and variations, and people just assume it’s a lot bigger and heavier. And some probably are. For example, a GTS with 18 way seats, sunroof, electric wing, RAS etc. can get the car all the way up to 3450; and the 4 GTS with similar options over 3500.

Actually, it took me all of 15 mins from setup to reading the weights

Based on that I’d expect my T to be in the 3400~ range. I’d love to weight my fleet just to see.

Always love to see this stuff. Not sure how far you want to push it, but a set of magnesium wheels would probably be next in line to save as much weight as possible.

Data is fun. Not planning to push much, but plan to install the Akra muffler that drops a little over 18lbs, and down the line will do the AntiGravity, full size, LifePO4 battery that’s probably good for 30-40lbs. Once the stock rotors wear out, GiroDisc ones will probably save a bit. Not a whole lot in the car to drop much without sacrificing something else I probably don’t want to Think getting down to 3250 shouldn’t be too hard

Thats impressive! Keep in mind, shaving off 25lbs of rotational mass will have a more dramatic "feel". Not trying to sell you on magnesium, just saying 😆

Oh, I know. I do plan to get a second set of wheels at some point, so I have a street and a track set. That said, the stock centerlock wheels do seem fairly light to begin with. Do you guys make monoblock, centerlock wheels as well?

I once calculated the mean weight of the average Carrera. I landed on 3,400 lbs, which is on the lighter side of the average weight of 3,525 lbs (3,250 for the T and 3,800 for the Targa). 3,320 lbs is excellent for a GTS.

I did not include GT cars in my calculation. Only Carreras.
