I am the proud owner of a 2024 Base Carrera 992. I just picked up the car last Friday from my local Porsche dealer in Larchmont, put about 100 miles on it in 5 days. Day five of ownership I open the garage and see a puddle of coolant under the drivers rear of the car. I called the dealership and they told me to bring it in right away which I did on Friday.

My question, has this ever happened to anyone else and if so what was the outcome.

This is my third 911 (86 Turbo, 08 4S) and my first New 911. The car has blown me away, I just absolutely love it but worried sick about what the problem could be and why would a brand new 911 have this issue.

Wondering if maybe it was over filled. Is it possible to check the reservoir on a 992? Interested in seeing how this turns out.

 

It's an awkward angle to look into. Easier to take a photo.

 

Nothing to worry about, bring it to the dealer and get it fixed. Likely something minor, something loose, over filled etc.

 

**** happens. I've had washer tanks randomly crack and spill out in the showroom waiting for delivery.
Usually it's a bad expansion tank or a line gave up on life randomly.
It happens, it's just about how it gets resolved is what's important.

 

my gut says it’s going to be one of two things:
1) a loose hose clamp
2) water pump
post with the results when you find out

 

Mine also leaked in the same spot

They replaced the idraulic pump under the warranty program. They didn’t disclose the potential reasons though

 

I had a similar issue once and it was an overfill

 

Sometimes, a loose hose clamp or a faulty seal could be the culprit. I’d also check the radiator, water pump, and thermostat. But, any repairs should fall under warranty.

What was the explanation for the spilled coolant?

 

Unfortunately I was not able to speak to the mechanic, all I got from the dealer was what I posted above, no other explanation.

 

I read the explanation as saying it was overfilled so the system spit some coolant out to get it to the right level.
