Default Wait for brake pad sensors to signal?

Is there any reason not to continue to drive (normal driving) with OEM brake pads until brake pad sensors indicate that the pads are worn? I know that the sensor will need to be replaced, but they are inexpensive. I intend to change my own pads, but I don't want to do it before necessary.

Not trying to threadjack, but if you need some new pads, I have a pretty much brand new set of OE pads for sale (together with matching rotors) that I removed off a newly delivered C4S (I believe you also have an S). Would love to get them out of my garage, if you feel like saving a few bucks...

No. That is what the sensors are for.
