Now that the custom badge project is nearing completion, I wanted to gather feedback on another project I’m considering. I really like the AeroKit lip, but I do wish it were a tad lower/flatter near the bottom portion of the lip. I have a spare AeroKit lip that I will send to my buddy to have it scanned so he can develop a slightly redesigned version of it utilizing the exact same mount type/mount points and utilizing the OEM under spoiler; it would essentially remain two pieces just like it comes from the factory. How many of you with Sport Design bumpers would be interested? The lips would be fashioned from ABS plastic like OEM and from carbon fiber.
Using @tourenwagen ’s car as an example, my vision is to have the lip designed so that it meets the bottom of the black under body spoiler. The overall design wouldn’t change much at all; keeping the overall AeroKit design is imperative. I could also have him make a new under spoiler to provide scrape protection. The OEM++ look is what I’m going for.

would be great if it didn't have the protruding lip that reduces approach angles. I'd be all over that since I don't live where it's just flat and not potholes (does anyone?)

If you prefer a lesser protruding lip, the Sport Design lip would be a better choice for you rather than the AeroKit lip or the lip I’m proposing.
I’m bumping this thread because conceptual design will begin on this custom project shortly. @SA_992SMT ‘s car will be used to test fitment and for the 3D modeling. I am going to go for a 991-esque GT3 RS lower bumper look. The black under-body spoiler of the 992’s Sport Design or AeroKit would be replaced by an ABS or carbon fiber piece that clips onto the factory Sport Design or AeroKit lip and protrudes under the lip, marrying to it like a factory piece. We will also play with the design of the lip as well.
This redesigned lower lip would require no modification to the car and would utilize the clips and Torx screws that attach to the lip. It will be for cars with the Sport Design bumper, but a version could be produced for those with a standard bumper if there was enough interest.
The process has begun. Much like the custom GT3 decklid badge thread, I will highlight the process of creating this front lip from genesis to conclusion.
Today we scanned @SA_992SMT ’s front bumper and conceptualized the variants to be produced:
These preliminary scans will be cleaned up and the design process will begin. We are shooting for a 991.2 GT3-esque offering for the 992. It will include the fender trim along the wheel well arch (..or be offered as an option; the piece should add about 1/4” to each fender arch and will taper, getting wider as it gets closer to the front lip). There are two screws/bolts in the fender well near the wheel arch that will be used as mount points for the wider arch pieces.
Like mentioned in a prior post, this lip will be designed for cars with the Sport Design/AeroKit bumpers, but we are open to an offering for the standard bumper. It will be a full OEM-like replacement that will use all of the OEM mount/attachment points.
I find all of this to be fun. I feel like many of the front lips on the market miss the mark (…at least IMHO; the AeroKit lip is near perfect to me. It just needs a bit more aggression), so if I can help bring another option to the table I’m all for it.
Ooh, that’s neat. Guessing the GT3 Touring lid is a direct fit onto the GTS? You still able to produce the 3.0 badge?
It’s a direct fit onto any 992 minus the winged GT3 due to the winged version not having the standard piston actuated engine cover. Yes, the 3.0 badges are available. Send me a message with your info.

Looking forward to see the first prototype. I believe it should be done very soon. @M3Inline6 is on it!
