In reading this forum I seem to realize how many members are in the later stage of their lives, many with a long history of 911s. I myself am 72 and decided to buy yet another 911 after driving the last air cooled version and the first well-designed water cooled version 997. Both were excellent cars and are worth today many times more than what I sold them for after a decade of use.
there is something special in us old guys buying 911. We value the details, the ride, the engine, the capacity to have a DD that could also track. Some cars are flashier, some are faster, but there is something magical in driving a 911- whatever generation.
a decade ago, I exited in my 911 a 360 degree turn from the turnpike. I enjoyed being able to do it at 60 plus miles per hour without the slightest instability. As I was rounding the curve, a state police pulled me over for speeding. “Officer, I’m and old man and this is one of my last pleasures left in life,” I said somewhat tongue in cheek. He let me go.

I bought my first Porsche at 74. Got 3 more in the ensuing years and now at 97 I am looking for another 911 which could be my last one.
Just kidding-I am now 75 and enjoying my first and probably only Porsche.

I hope to be in my 70s still blasting around in the car!

And ya 992s are fking expensive haha. Buying a new Porsche before it doesn't significantly set you back to do so is a bad financial decision for most people and I generally think if you're making enough to buy a new Porsche you're probably not an idiot with money, which is why most people wait before dropping 6 figures+ on a toy to drive on weekends.

Well since you rang got my first porsche ('20 C2S) at 35 but not to flex. Just consider myself lucky to be able to graduate from bmw for the car that it is. Hopefully healthy by 65 when kids all grown up I can enjoy another one or a McLaren.
