Past experience with their products. I'm not sure if the ownership and or management have changed. I believe it may have. I see the same person online discussing products.

My experiences and observations were documented and validated by a master mechanic and tuner. The issues I ran into with this company were widespread. It was over 10 years ago however. Maybe things have changed.

At the time I posted that they could not. They have since added the functionality.

So you go with the outfit that has the largest testing budget and facilities...that honor belongs with the guys in Auburn.

This, exactly.

Tuning a car is a sunk cost product. So a lower volume tuner might need to charge more for a tune just to stay profitable. So higher price doesn’t necessarily mean better.

APR also diversified their offerings with hardware as well as software, so while the tunes are a profit center, it’s not the only card in their deck.

I don’t recall hearing any issues with the 992 tunes available so I don’t think you could go wrong with whatever option you pick.

I've had nothing but good luck with APR in the past. In addition to the hardware side of things they offer tunes for dozens of vehcile models not to mention transmission tunes so their level of volume I'm sure plays in to how they can price their tunes.

Same, I’ve had a couple cars tuned by them dating all the way back about 15 years ago. Only issue was the inconvenient bench tuning requirement which is no longer an issue as they have a home tuner now.

I’d rather eat at Five Guys than McDonalds.

1’s and 0’s is not a ground chuck vs A5 Wagyu comparison - but please enlighten us how one tune is better than others, I’m genuinely curious.

McDonalds uses Utility Grade beef, the lowest that there is. This is the same level that dog food is made from.
Fast food is garbage. Do yourself a favor and never eat any of it.

Not much feedback on here about APR. If you search for "tune problems" you will find tunes having issues with misfires, stuttering and plugs.

I didn’t say one was better than other. Simply stating that the largest budget doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best.

Gotcha, I guess I misunderstood the comparison but I agree with you.

The outfit with the most facilities and resources is likely to have a better, more comprehensive testing program.
