I'd be interested to hear first-hand experiences with M-Engineering Stage 1 on a 992.

This thread is comical.

I never did understand the map switching on the fly thing with this platform. You’re limited by fuel.

there’s dozens of threads about user experiences on it, it’s the most used platform on here.

Exactly. Here's a search that will locate all the prior threads. TL;DR: it's fantastic, skip the lines and 'just do it'.

@32bitsofGil M definitely provides that, just ask 'em. I too came from a BMW E92 N55 and loved the MHD app for 'self service'
I've asked before and been shot down. Maybe they changed their policies, or maybe I need to purchase pro-tune services.

Has anyone here done the GIAC on either a Carrera S or GTS, would definitely appreciate feedback. Thank you!

I've driven about a total of 25k miles using their MTuner solutions. (inlcuding some light offroading and driving through rivers)

They recently helped me out when I was unhappy with how stage 2 power was being applied across the rev-range. After some logging, they sent over a revision to the stage 2 tune that applies smooth and juicy power. Be warned, you will need new (wider) wheels and tires to handle that kind of power increase.

I had the pleasure of meeting the team in Monterey last year for Rennsport7. They are great guys and overall I'm a very happy customer. Someday I think I might be crazy enough to remove my TCU and send it to them for the additional tuning they offer for the PDK. Hoping we also get PDK flashing over OBDII in the future from them as well. I'll really look forward to seeing them port over features they have for Mclarens, like map switching and rolling anti-lag.
The one thing I wish they offered is adjustment on burbles. I came from BMW/MHD life, where I simply maxxed out my machine gun tune. I am sorry for anyone that knew me then.

Maybe I will go custom tune to get that same aggressive overrun, and combined with a PDK tune I think that would be my end game for this car. (unless I find a crashed 992 to swap in some bigger turbos)
I pulled my PDK ECU and flew to Phoenix to let Mitch do his work lol, the GTS turbos definitely wake things up, I can only imagine the delivery of the Pure800's. Maybe I'll do that next year if I ever get bored with the GTS turbos.

Are M-Engineering tunes actually undetectable by Porsche?

When you flash your Uninstall file back to your car with M-Tuner (takes about 5 minutes, very quick!), it is a true byte-for-byte stock file with a verified CVN, verified CALID, and the flash counter is not raised.

Porsche can and will detect it.

If they want to.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Unless they're willing to wager both their left and right ******** on it.

Just wanted to share for those that might be in the same predicament. I may be incorrect on a few of these, it's just what I could gather from each respective tuner's website. What's a little unclear is the hp/tq from Softronic and what octane is needed for these numbers.

Numbers are based on a 992 Base car and data is only relevant to the 992 platform:

I like the idea of the resetting of the ECU flash count from APR but the tunes are canned right now, and I would like to be able to customize with exhaust flap control and they don't have compatibility stated for MY 2024 yet.

Hope this helps anyone trying to sift through all the data.

Edit: Updated again with % gains over stock - it's a bit misleading as some have crank hp and others have whp.
I'd recommend adding in the dyno plots, baseline vs tuned, for all of them. The peak and delta numbers give an idea, but you really want to see what the whole curve looks like as that determines what the feel of the car is going through the rev range to get the full picture. And you can see what the gains are at each part of the rev range. Personally, I like a flatter torque curve as opposed to one that makes a mountain of mid-range torque and drops off up top. So yes, I am saying I would go for lower peak torque in the midrange to get an overall flatter torque curve as I feel it's easier to manage traction at the limit on a road course and on twisty roads.

I don't know why I can't seem to edit my OP, but here's an updated version with GIAC and revised APR information. It seems that some of the extra controls i.e. exhaust valve control and auto start stop defeat are not yet available and it is tune only.

I think I found what confused me in your numbers. The APR numbers you list are crank and not whp. At the APR website the table apparently only gives estimated crank. The chart they provide you can switch between whp and crank but it provides the peak for tuned and stock as numbers in the chart legend (like 466hp crank and 438hp wheel for stage 1, 93). Also, it would be important to add what the tuners measured as stock values, which APR shows 369whp and 399crank for the base engine at 93. So, its easy to read what the actual gains are.

I am actually wondering now how many hear on RL have actually tuned their base Carrera (vs S, GTS etc)? Any experience to share? I just had the pleasure to drive a 991.2 S that made about 600whp with larger turbos and some other goodies and had mixed feelings.
