GT3 "mini-duck" on GT3 touring

I fully disassembled the spoiler - I actually used a C2 setup I bought off of ebay so I wouldn't have the modify my stock one. I removed the motor, bellows, and all other accessories - you have to do this to mount the stock GT3 mini-duck onto the platform, and then add the "hooks" off off the GT3 (or TTS actually). I have one of the Chinese copies of this mini-duck in carbon - it's pretty close to the same profile and only cost $500. The screens are not nearly the quality of the Porsche piece, but could be modified with better screen to achieve the same look. Also, the Chinese version mounts to the raisable arms - IE bolts on to the old pratform - this is somewhat problematic as you cannot readily adjust the body gaps accurately, and you are stuck with the weight of all the unused components. If I were to use the Chinese version, I would change the mounts to the same as the GT3 unit - shouldn't be too hard.
I really think this is the best path forward to achieve this look - use a stock platform with all components removed, modify the Chinese carbon spoiler to use better screens, and employ the standard OEM mounts (hooks and 2 bolts), and then program via PIWIS as a fixed "aerokit" spoiler.

Right on - i'll figure out how to make some slick mounts for the Moshammer so that all the internals of the motorized drive can be deleted. I'll probably fiddle with adding the truck latch onto the carbon GT3 wing base as well as I have a few of them, and 2 lbs is still something . . . .certainly not worth purchasing the wing base to save 2 lbs, but as I have them already, might as well!
Sorry I’m not as good at this is you guys are

I really don't like the look of the deployable spoiler on the GT3 touring, so have been looking at options to replace it. The first option involves fitting the stock "mini-duck" spoiler off of a winged GT3. There are some advantages of this approach - allows you to keep intact the entire touring spoiler for re-installation at a later date, and is SIGNIFICANTLY lighter with the winged parts. The wing car has a different sub plate that is carbon fiber, and also a different intake air plenum. Here are a few photos of test fit with all OEM wing parts on a Touring . .
I really like the look of this, so now off to paint shop to get painted GT Silver. I also have a Moshhammer GT3 Touring Duck on order, so will compare the two once both painted up and installed .. .

What is the purpose of the deployable spoiler? Is there any additional reason Porsche put it there other than increased downforce?

My Moshammer duck showed up yesterday - very nice piece, but I think I like the stock GT3 better. If anyone is interested in the Moshammer GT3T duck, I'll sell it for $2,000 shipped - just opened to inspect so brand new, no waiting, and no import. . .
