Keep 2 or get a new one?

Keep 2 or get a new one?
I currently have a 2021 Spyder and 2023 992T. Both fun and both different and scratch different itches. The T is my daily. I got the call today that I can order a Cab S with no ADM but would obviously lose on the trades. If I did this I would trade in both cars. Having trouble deciding what to do (I know, only I can answer that, but looking for opinions). I love them both but wonder if I would get more enjoyment with a cab as my daily. Plus, I would have less money tied up in my cars, which would be nice. But would I miss the Spyder? Build code for the S is PR572NG9

You have a 992 an the Spyder currently you don't want to just swap the T for the Cab S and still have a 992 and Spyder? Would still possibly be 2 different itches unless the main one you are talking about for the Spyder is the no roof.

Don’t do it - you have the perfect set up. You’ll lose $20k in the trades from wholesale to what they need to sell them for at retail and end up with a car that’s not as purposeful as either car that you have. Sort of like not as good as the spyder, but heavier than the T.

I lost my 992 to the gods of voided warranty. While I miss it on a daily basis compared to my DD, the spyder is a different story. I'm not selling it at any time.
Neither T nor cab will hold value, if that's of any concern. Carreras in general were only difficult to acquire due to the recent past shortcomings and the Porsche fake scarcity. If you regret the cab, it's easier to go back to a T. With the spyder it's more complicated.
I too think of going back to a cab, swapping the pana, but I feel Porsche and its stealerships are way too greedy. Maybe when the .2 arrives and cars will be shoved down their dealer throats, I'll try again.

I’d keep what you have. I’m in a similar situation, I have a 718 GT4 and a 992 GTS cab. I like having 2 different experiences that I can choose from in the garage. I also daily a very boring Mazda CX-5 SUV so that it still feels special whenever I jump into either of those cars.

Don’t trade both for an S cab and keep what you have. I also have a 718 GT4 and a 992 C4S coupe and daily an old Toyota Highlander. Both of the Porsches are special a scratch a different itch. You have a good setup now and would take a $$ hit by trading. You have a drop top covered with the Spyder so an S Cab is redundant. Now if I could get a PTS GT3 Touring allocation, then I would say all bets are off and I would trade both!

After reading the thread on the 992.2 and watching the video it seems that Porsche is going to seriously limit supply and significantly increase prices so 992.1 models could hold their value very well. I say keep what you have, the 718 chassis is also short-lived as we know it.

I’ve been going through a similar debate. I have a 718 boxster GTS 4.0 and just sold a 992 Carrera S coupe because I’m locked in for a 992 GTS cab this summer. I am planning on consolidating to the 992 GTS cab, but might hold onto the Boxster if they low ball my trade. The Boxster and 992CS are manual. Part of me is tempted to get a PDK gts cab if I’m keeping the boxster. My order locks in 3 weeks. It’s a tough call for sure. They are different experiences, but both cars will depreciate. Maybe the spyder will hold value better, but there is still taking care of it, insurance, garage space, etc that has to be considered. I loved my C2s, but I really want a GTS and like dropping the top. And I know it’s debatable, but I love the 911 cab looks.

What are the transmissions of these cars? Sticks will hold their value better especially if the 992.2 cuts back on manuals.

Quality over quantity.
992 Cab S > 992 T + 781 Spyder

Both cars are manual. I appreciate all of the comments. Things I love about he S Cab are the ability to get the Heritage interior. I just love it. Also, ease of dropping the top and having the ability to go convertible whenever I want would be nice. I’m in NC and have 8 months a year where the convertible can be used. But I love the NA Spyder and I agree that it is special. I’m still waiting on what the dealership will give me on the trades. My guess is they will try and low ball me and that will keep me from pulling the trigger.

When I've asked my dealer for trades, they got back to me within minutes. I sent the VIN and mileage and got an answer I was more than happy with. I would find out what they're offering on your Spyder first. That offer shouldn't be lousy - if it is, you have your answer.
