Bit the bullet last week and ordered the Zunsport grille guards. They arrived this afternoon and I installed them in about 10 or 15 minutes, as soon as I figured out the orientation of the uppers. They seem pretty stout.

Rennline Screens
I went with the Rennline on my 24 Carrera T. Bumper removal was a little scary at first but after learning how to do it, not a big deal at all. I like the recessed look but you still have to vacuum debris out of the space. There is only one YouTube video on how to remove the front bumper. Instructions are good with the exception of not all 992s have front bumper clips (mine doesn’t have them).

Just installed the RGS protectors on mine. Plastic trim pieces were easy to remove but putting back them was a pain. Had to troubleshoot a couple of times to get them to get them to fit. Hopefully one time install cause I doubt the plastic tabs will come out again without damage.

I got the ZunSport, and overall, it will do the job of protecting the radiator

Thanks for these picture, as I've always wonder if 992 comes with 3 radiator or 2.
The Rennline is installed on the black plastic shroud (closer to the radiator unit) is self but fr SD bumper both Zunsport and RGS is installed closer/attached to the bumper itself. The benefit of the grill attached to the bumper, is that you can still vacuum behind the grill in case those debries/leaves get past the grill..

Why do ppl feel these are needed? I’ve been driving water cooled Porsches for almost 30 years (both road and track) and never seen a radiator failure caused by a rock, and don’t know anyone who has. Could it happen? Sure, but what are the chances? Reminds me of the Kangaroo bar craze of the 90s…
I'd rather spend the few $ on the grill screens than spend it replacing the radiator..

ZunSport installed on standard bumper. Sides are snug, center a tiny bit off on one side, but within “tolerance”.

My experience.
1. The last DE I was at I hit a tumbleweed that was taller than my car that blew on the back straight of High Plains Raceway
at somewhere near 130MPH. It put a dime sized dent in the hood and I spent a lot of time picking pieces out of my Zunesport
grill covers that would have gone straight into the radiators but I had no rad damage.
2. At the most recent DE after a biblical storm (lightning, wind and hail) that added another dent to my previously perfect 911
I hit another tumbleweed while driving home through horizontal rain. This one didn't leave a dent but I had to stop to pull
a large part of it from under the front splitter to stop the sound of of hundreds of fingers of plant material dragging on
the ground. No damage to the rads.
3. Also a my most recent DE a 991 CS took a rock into the front left radiator dumped a bunch of coolant which at least 1 driver
spun out in. The car in question had to be taken on a flat bed a couple of hours away.
So I am sold on radiator protection....a hint to the usefulness of this is that modern GT cars come from the factory with radiator grills.

Tumbleweeds actually exist??!! I thought those were just weird props in old western movies?

It was dark all around and then it popped up, almost seemed like the size of a large SUV.
