This was the toughest option for me, when I built and ordered our first 911. I really liked it, but then ultimately cheaped out and did not order it. We had the 14 way seats. My rationale was that for $1,300ish I did not find the value in it for that price point (or whatever the actual $ was).

Our 2nd 911 we purchased CPO'ed and it does not have the 930 package either. Ironically, when I was looking at CPO'ed 911s that was one that I was secretly hoping would be included. Our has the extended dashboard in leather that I would have gladly foregone and the rear of the seats in full leather, which I would have gladly switched out for the 930 quilting. Oh well...everyone has a value and preference order for the options and niceties in their 911s.

If I were you, I would definitely check that box. Of course everyone who has those seats will say "yah, they are the greatest ever."

You asked how important the 930 quilting was, and my answer is that they are not important at all, the car will function just fine without them. There are some really good pictures of the quilting that some have posted up that should help you make your decision.

Post up your build # and let us see the rest of your spec.

To me the interior with the 18 way seats looks a little plain without the 930 package. I ordered it and I certainly would again.

I have the 930 and second that it is great. For anyone who said the deviated stitching didn't extend, yes that is true, but also the right call by Porsche. Otherwise the seats and door cards would be way too busy with all that deviated stitching. It would look tacky and be over the top.

Like others, I opted for deviated seat centers, in my case Black Leather Interior with Chalk Stitching, Deviated Seat Centers in Chalk, and 930 Leather. As close to the Exclusive Manufaktur Interior without those $$.

930 is a must. Looks incomplete without it.

Default contrarian view

...I haven't seen it in person, and I agree it makes the interior look more luxe... but I also think it borders on dowdy, it's less sporty, and I don't love the mix of throwback and modern in the interior. But agree--cheap for the upgrade if it suits your taste!

When I was spec’ing my car, I felt there was something ever so slightly “off” with the 930 package, and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

I liked the individual parts of the 930 package. When I looked at the seats, they looked nice. When I looked at the door panels, they looked nice.

But you’ve pinpointed what had caused my hesitation: the classic look conflicts with the very modernized 992. I do appreciate heritage represented in a modern design, but your comment made me realize that the 930 package felt somewhat inharmonious to my eye.

The 930 package has a different look when ordered with the 14-way seats. It also works well with the extended leather door panel option and its angled stitching. Both options also dress up the rear area.

However, I wouldn’t order it unless the 930 package stitching is consistent with the rest of the interior, since it can’t be deviated.

If I were to go back I probably would have specced 930 instead of rear axle steering
