Becoming like a color choice thread, some believers some don’t see the need.
I have driven lowered cars most my life, have a steepish driveway at home and at work, and many other places. PASM Sport (-10mm), Sport Design front lip painted body color, was possibly going to put HAS spring kit in (happy as it sits now). FAL was a strong yes for me and use it all the time.
GPS enabled is a big plus, works every time. Though you have to be selective about which places you add. Example, my bank has a steep driveway. Set it to remember, but if I’m just driving past the bank it raises. Just a quick tap of the switch and it’s back down. A small price to pay for a great feature.
My time and inconvenience is worth far more than comparing how much less the rubber piece is than FAL. I wonder how many 992 owners have actually gone through the trouble of ordering and replacing the rubber piece - I suspect very small number vs. how many of us have FAL (or don't).
Dont mistake the people in this forum as average 992 owners.
The average 992 owner doesnt even worry about that slight rash on the front lip and that damange doesnt hurt them on trade in, and FAL doesnt help either.
So yes, you are probably half correct, few have gone thought changing that out - but most dont care enough to even think about it.
I find it interesting that many who have FAL say they 'use' it all the time. I never hear anyone saying 'I need it all the time'. Use and need are two different things.
It's like turning down the radio when backing into a parking space. You don't really need to do that, but if it makes you more comfortable, go for it.
