I’ve heard the same. The newer Conties seem to best them both, according to recent reviews. We’re talking about incremental improvements here, as technology advances.
IMO, I won the tire lottery with Michelins. I am quite happy, since I’ve had really good experience with them in the past. But I’m sure people getting Goodyears or Continentals will not be disappointed.

I had Goodyears on for 18,000 miles and the PS4S tires the past 1,000+ miles. Michelins ride a little softer and I like their grip right now but it’s not a night and day difference. The Goodyears were pretty close in performance.
C4S here. Jan 17th build so not “recent” but per the Porsche supplied elevator pic, it looks like I got Goodyears. Can’t confirm yet since the car is still waiting at Emden. I ordered the 20” / 21” Carrera Classic wheels if that helps with another data point in determining whether there is a rhyme or reason behind the tires lottery.
