wow Taylor swift everywhere. That def doesn’t sound normal. My kid threw a little ball toy into the AC vent from my dash I literally saw it roll in. Car doesn’t even rattle like the videos. Check it out let us know

Sound like the tank rattle to me, 100%. If they went thru the trouble to drop your tank, (meaning Porsche authorized as it is quite involved), they would any installed the new tank pad and straps as well. Those don't solve the issue long term as far as I've read but they would have helped for a little while.

UPDATE: Car has been with the dealer for the last week and will be there for the next few days. They're pretty certain it's the fuel tank. There are some foam pads there to mitigate the rattling, one had fallen off some how and another misaligned. So they're extracting the fuel out and dropping the tank to replace the foam pads. Hopefully it solves the issue and doesn't come up again. Wondering if this is a design defect for these foam pads coming out of place or it has something to do with my driving? lol

Some of us have both 992’s and EV’s.

Can’t speak for everyone in this category, but will say my experience has been that my EV is uncannily quiet and rattle free. Only sound is a bit of tire/road noise and wind at highway speeds. Wish I could say the same for the 992…especially when it cost nearly 3X what I paid for the EV. But will give a huge thumbs 👍up for why I bought the 992…it handles like it was on rails, with mind bending quickness.

But as a constructive criticism, Porsche needs to work harder on quieting the rattles that a fair number of us have, or had with the 992.

I 100% agree Porsche needs to do better with rattles... it's disappointing really. However, I was in a Tesla yesterday and it had a ton of interior rattles too! EV's aren't immune. No car really is immune but some manufacturers are way better at minimizing the issue than Porsche.

My GTS has a passenger side door rattle. In warm weather it goes away. I think its a fit issue with the door panel that solves itself as the materials expand.

On both my 991.2 Targa, and also 992 Targa, both of these cars with both Driver and Passenger sides have an occasional light rattle sound that really seems like it is coming from the dash in front... however it's actually from up top from the Sun Visor bouncing with the headliner. If you put the sun visor down or move it even slightly down so it doesn't touch the roof, then it goes away immediately.

I’ve had 2x 2022 cars now and 1x 2024 car. The 2024 was the only one that had rattles that I had to chase. It took me taking apart several areas to chase them down.

My 2022 C2S had a passenger door rattle and possible tank rattle until recently. They fixed the door rattle once but it came back. Over the last couple of months it seems like the rattles have disappeared. I have almost 10k miles on it and it has seemed to get quieter with time, to my surprise. Maybe this gives hope to some people still dealing with rattles.

I wonder how well 911s have been with rattles over say the last one or two decades. Is it people's experience that they have been relatively rattle free? There seems to be a fair number of rattle complaints on the 992 generation and manufacturing quality issues. My 2001 Boxster S and 2014 Cayman S were both rattle free, so is my 2023 Carrera 4. Knock on wood.

Luck of the draw I guess then!

This has been discussed on a thread or two.
Sounds like someone at the factory didnt do their job installing the pads on an extended tank.
I believe this can happen because there's less room (given the tank size) to install the pads.

24 here. I have a very noticeable rattle coming from the front end of the car. I don't have the extended gas tank, nor do I notice any difference if it's full or not. It's also not related to speed bumps. It happens mainly on low rpm's, low speed. When I am approximately above 30km/h it completely goes away, or I stop hearing it.

Read all the rattle threads and watched all the videos and nothing seems to be the same.

Seems to be the same rattle that you would get in an MT car when driving super low rpms.

Someone here said flywheel, but I'm unsure if it's that. Will take it in next week to have it checked out.
