Default Gear shift protection mechanism?

I'm wondering and I couldn't find any resources online to explain. What happens if the car is rolling and I mistakenly press the P button? And what happens if I shift from N to R? Does Porsche implement an electronic logic that blocks the actuation command if some parameters are not met?

Nothing. The ECM is programmed to ignore the input if the vehicle is moving more than a couple of MPH.

Yep, that button will do nothing but beep at you when the car is in motion.
