Has anyone ever experienced ceramic brakes or heard of anyone who has had ceramic brakes from factory and after 1000 miles they become defective and the car was never tracked and the dealership replaced Ceramic brakes never knowing what really happened

What defect have you heard? PCCB usually have very long life, and most posts seem to support it.

I would say this is extremely rare. A quick google query says PCCB typically last over 100K miles (some say over 150K) with pads in the 75K range. I personally have no experience with Porsche PCCB, but my last AMG C63S with Carbon Ceramics still going strong at 55K miles.

Have experienced ceramic brakes on multiple cars, including Porsche. I don't have them on my current GTS, but that's only because I bought it pre-owned. Anyhow, it is very unusual to hear about them failing after 1,100 miles. A non-tracked set of ceramic rotors can last the life of the vehicle. What did you learn about what was replaced, one rotor, all 4, etc.? Suppose there could have been something with the calipers that caused damage, or something that got caught in the wheel, caliper, etc., e.g., small rock. This is very common on GT cars. Doesn't damage the brakes per se but puts a very unsightly deep gouge on the inside barrel of the wheel. Why don't you look to see if there is any scaring on the inner barrel(s). Go to any dealer or shop that works on GT cars and has a bunch and I guarantee you'll see signs of this. Again, not claiming it damaged the brake system, just sharing what can get kicked up, stuck, etc. And when this does happen its awful, as the sound is alarming. Only other thing I can think of is the car was tracked and someone really abused the brakes. Porsche warrantied the system as part of good will. I know you said it wasn't but are you 100% certain.

If you're just not happy with the PCCB on your GTS, and it's a 991.2, I'd be happy to swap with you.

this is a car that I’m looking to purchase…. so the information I got on Saturday from the dealer was that they spoke to the owner of the car because the car is on consignment and he said that he did not track the car and that he heard the noise when he would travel at roughly 65 miles an hour he took it in they couldn’t see anything wrong so he left with his car it happened again and again, so he took it in and this time they could not find what was wrong with the car according to him, but PORSCHE did approve the replacement of all, the front and rear calibers along with new tires that’s all I know as of now I will continue to investigate this tomorrow

Stuff happens and the dealer fixed, as I think they should in situations like that. Wouldn’t bother me one bit if everything was replaced with OEM new parts.

Interesting the tires were replaced so early. Anyhow, sounds like a nicely equipped car. Good luck!

What does it matter? It sounds like they fixed the issue and replaced a lot of bits to make it right.

it seems like so let’s see if the car is operating correctly now it has 1800 miles so it’s been driven 700 miles since the incident was taken care of but I’m putting all the money down. I need to know that the car is running correctly.

Good to be thorough on a car you are purchasing. Do you have the opportunity to drive the car, or remote purchase? Is the car still under warranty or option to do extended warranty? Might give you peace of mind.
