PORSCHE dealership and port delivery hold

Brand new member here - probably short lived tenure - ordered our new Porsche in early June of last year - completed production December 5 - 30 days at Emden port - roughly 30 days journey to Benicia - arrived 2/12/2024. Porsche "updates" are useless - total corporate speak / yada yada. No meaningful info on a quarter million $$$ vehicle. Really getting old....

Of course I knew I was not alone - after reading the posts on this topic I joined to add my two cents. What boggles my mind is the inability of Porsche to give a meaningful update. They have X number of impacted cars at each port - X1 at Benicia. They have some number of replacement modules vectored to Benicia arriving by.... Pick a FIFO or whatever approach / calculate the install time and notify customers with a 2 or 3 day window for dispatch to the dealer. Amazon does this on a $10 pair of socks coming cross country with delivery accuracy being very impressive. I know its socks and Porsches - but goodness gracious........

Of course I knew you knew you weren’t alone. Just trying to provide info that your situation could be worse to lift moral a little as you are “new here.” I agree as does the vast majority of folks in here that the handling of this situation is mind boggling.

You’re not alone. Ordered 4/30/23 Completed 12/4/23 sat in Emden for a month arrived in JAX 1/22/24 and the date I was given was 3/29 now 3/30…. From what I’m gathering it doesn’t matter if your car was first in port before the hold as cars built and arrived after mine have been delivered to customers in Naples.
I know cayennes were first to be released.

I guess it could get worse - but going on 10 months since order and all this lack of info. Sadly, I went through almost the same thing when I ordered my first Porsche - a 911 Turbo - took forever - hung up at the ports (no customs issues) - Porsche Atlanta could only tell me to contact my dealer - deja vu all over again x2 redux LOL. To add insult to injury they don't even respond to the messages you send them via MyPorsche. Oh well - tick tock.......

I thought it was FIFO as well, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at the JAX port. After reading this thread it appears folks that have taken delivery of their 911s from JAX to Naples arrived in port after my 911. It’s possible certain FL dealerships/customers have more sway? Beyond frustrating.

Hey all…Went down this afternoon and saw the car, looked fine no damage. They hadn’t started an exterior clean yet. I asked for a clay and wax, Paul my sale tech told me not a problem, even agreed with me, that under those condition of acid rain left outdoors over that long period of time without a wash was probably a good idea. Wow, thanks Paul!
I was the first car in this morning, one of only a few, all wrapped. It came with the part need to be released. Love the GT Silver with interior sport-Tex and the Satin black wheels, looks killer. And I was luck enough to get Michelins!
Go back tomorrow afternoon to finalize the deal with a walk around and finalize payment . Then drive her home….My dream is realized. 😁
All the best to all the rest waiting. ✌️
