Default Left Front Axle Lift on Overnight

I accidentally left FAL on while my 992 was parked for 24 hours. Any potential damage?

For how long have you done that? This only came to my attention because the manual specifically says to lower it when the car is off.

Why are you worried - is this something known to cause issues? I don't see anything in the manual. Mine automatically comes on due to the GPS location when I pull up to my driveway. I haven't bothered to lower it again after pulling into the garage. But I've only had my car a couple of weeks so far.

It's a hydraulic system so I'm guessing it stays pressurized when it's active and it will blow the seals out more quickly if stored like that.

There have been reports of issues in other posts. Porsche now advises to always lower it before parking and says so in the manual.

You're fine.

Or not. Nothing you can do about it now.

But seriously, you're fine. Maybe.

That's not the question at all. Just do it right. You could also not warm your car up and beat on it and it would probably still last a long time

If for nothing else you should always lower FAL when parking for when you or anyone else have to look at it.

thanks. I searched for FAL and similar terms in the e version of the manual and didn’t find that. I’ll lower it moving forward.

Good to follow the manual advice but not a tragedy if you forget on occasion. I’ve done to several times with no ill affect.

I generally give the car a glance before I go in the house, because… well if you don’t look back at it you bought the wrong car. 😊

I have trained my brain now to put it in the down position after I pull in the driveway while waiting for the garage to open.
