Steering Wheel Creaking - Plastic Piece
Hello!
I recently got a 992 GTS with the alcantara steering wheel, but the steering wheel creaking drives me nuts. Anytime I squeeze or put any pressure on the wheel that flexes it, the plastic part creaks. It doesn't creak when I simply turn the wheel, it's from any kind of pressure/flexing that moves the plastic. Is there any way to fix this? Are the screws on the front piece real to remove the plastic piece?

Not sure, but I thought those screws are fake. I wouldn't mess with them. The creaking was an issue on the 991.2 as well. Put pressure on the wheel left and right and you hear creaking. It seems to be the larger plastic Y shaped part. Maybe your dealer can remove it and re-install with some sort of thin foam tape on the inside edges.

I had the "creak" on my 992 when new. Squirted a little Jig-A-Loo in the crevices and worked it in by pressing/releasing the offending plastic part. 46,000 km later the creak hasn't returned. Other lubricants might work as well, but I like Jig-a-Loo as it doesn't have any odor.

I have the same issue on my gt steering wheel for my taycan. Definitely the plastic covering. Tried tightening loosening the screws which definitely don't do anything.
Anyone else just try lube/grease as mentioned?
Going to try that next I think.
