Default Damage from standing water (drove through)

Just driving from Long Island and was being tailgated out east, heavyish rain and coudlnt swerve out of standing water on right hand side of road. Heavy scraping started right after. Stopped and found this on rear right one front of rear wheel.

Anyone lmow what part this is / likely damage incurred?
already dropped off at dealer (was luckily 1 mile away). Any help appreciated!

side note the person tailgating me had the audacity to flip their high beams at us after I had to slow down!

Looks like you hit more than water. But no worries. I think that is just the plastic brake duct. Easily replaced

thank you! I will report back when dealer lets me know. Hopefully nothing else damaged. I assume when the car hit the standing water suspension floated / lost grip and then on rebound the car bottomed out? Unclear

Yes, the water can impart quite a force. I was pulling away from a stop light (turning onto the main roadway) during a heavy rain and went through the water that was flowing down the gutter of the main roadway... it ripped my front license plate off. The water was probably 6 inches deep. It wasn't my 992, thus the front license plate was mounted.

I think you likely dropped that tire / side of the car into a hole and connected with Mother Earth.

As noted, looks to be brake duct, which is integral with front part of fender liner, about a $200 part.
