Hello all, new owner of 2020 911 Carrera 4 that I will need to trailer in the upcoming months. What is the best way to tie this particular Porsche down to the trailer? What are the best tie down points?
Yea I have used Uhaul many times, and it works fine for most cars... But the 992 is very wide at the wheels so you'd need to measure. There is also a front lip at the front of the uhaul trailer that some cars are too low to clear.
Like icegrill said, it seems like a bad idea for this car unless you are really in a pinch.
What are the circumstances around you needing to trailer it?
DK about the width but I've read on a u haul you may need to put down some 2x8s to get it on the ramp and then some wood blocks to put them down where the front wheels go.
Trailering is no fun as it is then having a weird set up on the trailer makes it even more work. I’ve seen the 2x8 trick, if that’s what I gotta do then that’s what I gotta do.

Are there bolt on units available now for the 992?
Not sure on tie down points but wheels are a great option. If you plan to do several events a year getting a basic oen trailer may be the right choice for you. Dont use the uhaul trailer. And if not securing at the wheel never cross straps from side to side. Straight from the down to that corner. Sorry if too basic.
