Doing quick math tells me the luxury tax would be ~16,100CAD, meaning the “dealer options” add up to ~11,200CAD:
  • 3,999 Ceramic coating and stone guard
  • 2,850 Destination charge
  • 2,750 Max dealer fee
  • 100 A/C tax
  • 35 Tire recycling tax
  • 1,450 mats, charger, etc…

The luxury tax also applies to any “improvements” made to the car such as PPF or ceramic coating.

Yes, but your above statement is not correct. The luxury tax on this vehicle would not be $ 16 100.

That is how I did the math:

169,240 MSRP including factory options
+11,188 Dealer added options and fees
180,428 Total purchase price
+16,085 Luxury tax (20% of 80,428)
196,513 Off the lot price before HST

The application varies province to province. In Québec for instance, dealers are not allowed to sell above what manufacturers specify on their websites.

$11K + tax for front PPF and ceramic which will cost a max of $3k in the GTA. I guess if you want to pay $10k over list...

Read what I posted earlier. Dealer is charging $4k for the ceramic and stone guard. The rest of the charges are freight & PDI, dealer fees, various taxes (all of which are clearly listed on the Porsche.ca website) plus some dealer options (protection packages, winter floor mats, trickle charger, etc).

From the Porsche.ca website:

You are correct - I assumed that was already within the price.

The dealer breakout is somewhat confusing as it lists the luxury tax within the "dealer add-ons".

actually, $169 240 is the MSRP sale price (pre tax) after adding on all the MSRP porsche options for C4 coupe. So PFAFF is actually charging close to 30K more on top of MSRP pricing + MSRP options.

Have you even bothered reading the responses in your own thread?

no no no, left wing government wont cap a tax… it’s far from fact, 10% on cars worth more than 200k, no cap

Just refuse the added options and sign the papers.

a bit of update. Hopefully this information will help other 911 shoppers out there in GTA.

I went to porsche north toronto location and get a quote for C4S with the exact options I wanted. I also asked pfaff porsche markham to give me a quote for the same C4S with the exact options I want. Both cars are the same with same options.

Final pricing after everything (i.e. taxes, delivery, dealer fee etc..) is $7674 less at porsche north toronto location compare to at pfaff porsche markham. So I went ahead and put down $5000 deposit at porsche north toronto location. Porsche north toronto deposit is fully refundable back to credit card before taking allocation. (see screen shot for difference)

My friend who recently paid a deposit for Porsche Macan at Porsche downtown town location and they won't credit back his deposit before allocation into his credit card after he decide not to buy a new car due to financial reason, they can only convert his deposit to store credit to use in the future, so I did not bother to talk to porsche downtown.

If I were buying a car in Canada, I would ask that any extras I have agreed to purchase be on a separate transaction, eh? i.e. PPF, ceramic coating, etc., etc. be paid separately to avoid the additional luxury tax.

Quick Reply: taking over 911 allocation without paying deposit. Too real to be true in Toronto?
