I don’t know if windshield wipers are considered mechanical, but whenever I turn off the car, the passenger windshield wiper activates a tiny bit. I had a Macan loaner and it did the same thing.

4 years and 18k miles (sadly too low, thanks a lot Covid) and my 992 is as solid as a new car I just bought. Just extended the warranty another 3 years only out of fear, not reality.

Are you talking about the normal wiper flip to reposition the wiper? Thats by design to flip the way the blades sit to extend their life.

I've had a number of 356's over the years and every one of them, other than the engine, were silent! IMHO, they all had "character"

The advantage of a handmade car. Built by craftsman proud of their work.

mechanically, the 992 is sound if you follow the maintenance schedule . but the cabin can sound like a bag of bolts. if you can get past the cabin noises (that come and go) and you if want a fun daily driver you really cant go wrong with the 992.
Yes, some rattles from the door covers; mine when its cold, goes away on warm days. Otherwise only occasional PCM hiccups ... went dead for about two minutes, took too long to recognize me.
