Most the time hides are finished tanning well ahead of the production date of the car.

Thanks for the follow up. It is OK. Smells like leather just does not last very long. Directions are to spray under the seats in case it discolors your carpet which made me suspicious. Worth $5 but will not buy again.

I have tried both the Chemical Guys and Griot’s leather sent and the Griot’s lasts considerably longer. It seems to be more oil based while Chemical Guys water.

I sprayed 3-4 spritz on my metal countertop in the garage and wiped it down and the garage smelled like leather for a few days. Haha

My father's 33 year-old 964 Cab still smells like leather and oil...and takes me straight back to my childhood in the back of his 1973T. Amazing.

My 992 Carrera with full leather Bordeaux red interior smells nice even after 1.5 years. I use LeTech leather care products based on my detailer recommendation. Everytime after cleaning and balming leather with LeTech the car smells like a new car and leather is soft and matt as brand new from showroom. Cant be happier

Not an answer, but some more fun trivia. When I was an engineer at Ford, they had an entire lab dedicated to the interior scent of new cars. They study all the new materials and make sure there aren’t any unpleasant scents or combinations. There are some scientific experiments, but the number one scent sensor is some old guy’s nose that has been working there 30+ years. They put the new material in jars (I want to say they were actually mason jars, but maybe not exact brand name), and then periodically crack the lid and take a big whiff. Pretty funny to walk through all the labs, all this scientific test equipment, some quiet expensive, but then there is a corner with a bunch of jars and an old guy sniffing them.
