Precut films done properly can be better than what's depicted in this video, but we call these as "click and print" patterns...as in, pull up software, choose pattern, print without any meaningful extension or customization

IMHO, these installations are fine for a track car that needs routine replacing...but not anywhere else where aesthetics/full protection is desired

If it’s the same PPF that the stone guards are made of I would hard pass. Mine was yellow after 1 year and 2000 miles. I had them removed recently and done in Xpel along with the front.

The factory PPF is not as thick. The texture doesn’t match the factory paint texture so two panels side by side you will see the PPF. They only do half hood and fenders so you will have a line going across. The corners and edges of mine are all lifting. It’s pitted and full of rock chips and badly needs to be replaced. I put 24k miles on it and I would say it mostly did its job in protecting the paint. I have one spot on the lower part of the front bumper where something pierced the plastic. I also have several spots above the ppf line that wasn’t protected (do the full hood!)

My opinion on the factory job is that it is great for ED if you got that opportunity or if your installer is booked out and you want to enjoy the car for awhile right when it shows up. It’s not going to win any beauty competitions and if you have any attention to detail you will not be impressed with it.

Thank you for all of the responses, links, and videos! Pretty clear factory PPF is not good, so I'l skip it, unless I have $3k to use as European Delivery protection for those 2 weeks. I think I'll likely use the track film for the days of highway driving and take a risk on the alpine roads.

That film looks good. I like how he does the duckbill and front extractors without relief cuts. I’m curious how long term durability looks on those areas and if there is any lifting later on down the line.

I owned my 981 GT4 for 5 years and never had any issues with the ClearGuard Nano lifting up.
Really like how seamless their work is!

My 2023 GT3 Touring got the latest version (ClearGuard Alpha) back in late January. I had the boys at Premier double-up on the shark fin with a much larger piece that makes sense.
The OEM shark fin by Porsche is ridiculously small.

Agreed. The stock ppf on the rear is inadequate. I just did a lot of touch up below and behind the factory ppf on my C2S I am trading in.
