When I try to make a voice command call in my 23 Cs I get the following “ The phone is connected thru another function and can’t make phone calls“ This while I’m using Apple car play for music. Voice control is activated and My phone a IPhone 12 is up to date. All my other PCM functions work perfectly along with CarPlay. On ios16

 

Have you tried using Siri?

 

Siri won’t work at all while in car with PCM running Car Play Works fine otherwise.

 

Have you rebooted the PCM?

That's not normal... with Carplay connected pressing the voice button on the steering wheel should invoke Siri.

 

When I press voice control button or say Hay Porsche I get voice command an when I say” call Mary” the voice control says “this phone is connected thru another function and can’t make phone calls “.

 

If you have your iPhone connected (either by cord or by Bluetooth) you have to use Siri to make calls. To use Siri you have to hold down the voice button longer than normal. So, a quick push gets you the Porsche voice, and a longer hold gets you to Siri. If that doesn't work, you have a problem.
