They seem to have their issues as well. I actually had an out of state Porsche parts manager at a large metropolitan dealer tell me not to order it on my build.

OK, added Surround View back after asking my sales guy to check with service if they’ve got many issues with it in the last 6 months. He apparently went and checked and said not really. So I added it back - basically added Premium Package which gives me my individual options, plus SV and interior footwell lights for less than individual options.

Sorry, but I am one of the few that is opposed to surround view. It is a sports car, not the family SUV. The general consensus is that ambient lighting is a joke in a 992. Most of those that have ordered it have stated they would not order it again.

That statement has nothing to do with the benefits of surround view, one could even make a case that it's more important in a low riding sports car than SUV. Ever parallel park or pull up next to a curb? How about those medians in a parking lot that stop you from going too far forward? You can be opposed to it, that's fine, but it's only additive to any car. I wouldn't buy a car without surround view.

Then dont get or use your camera. Me? I really appreciate. it in tight spaces or where I want to park very close to a curbed island to avoid a door ding from an SUV on the other side. Also allows me to pull within an inch of the parking bumper or the back of my garage as the fella above.

I love it and actually wouldn't purchase a car without it. Just me though...plus my wife drives as well and she really likes it just for that purpose. It's a convenience measure for me.

Does the ambient lighting even work? I have it specced in my car and can change settings for it in PCM but I can’t see it. So different than what I have in the Panamera.
