Default Best radar detector with dash mount

In California radar detectors are legal, but not if mounted on a windshield. Are there good radar detector dash mounts that don't damage the 911 dash?

But that then takes the visor out of commission for its intended use.

[side note: California has dumb rules.]

I have a Valentine1 so just using the one they sell. The visor is slightly angled, so lately I've had a tiny wedge between the clip and the visor to keep the detector level (though I haven't noticed any difference when it's not level, regarding detection range)

True, I just think after using a visor clip for 10+ yrs I'm used to it, and prefer that mounting position over options. It's easy, doesn't block my view, and is super hidden when parked.

Get a blendmount. And either a Uniden r8 or Escort redline 360c. If you’re tech-savvy, go uniden, otherwise, get the escort.

I sue the Radenzo in my wife's car and like it a lot. Great detection and very effective filtering of false alerts.

Many road miles using an Escort 360c on a Blendsmount mirror mount. I have lost count of the saves. Completed a 10K, 28 state road trip this summer without a stop. I have used Escort detectors since the 80s without a single ticket. What more can I say?

I would recommend a V1 Gen 2 or an Escort Redline 360C on a blend mount. The Uniden R8 is also a great performer but its ability to filter out nuisance signals is not as good as the other 2.

When I used to live in CA, I mounted my V1 to the rear view mirror stalk via a Blendmount and hardwired it into the map lights. Can also hardwire to fuse panel with a Add-A-Circuit and tuck the cable between the a-pillar and windshield.

Blendmount was literally invented to solve this California problem. The answer is Blendmount.
