Likelihood For Discount on 2024 Allocation
I would love everyone thoughts as the markets begins to soften a bit - my dealer has now 2 2024 Base Carrera Allocations to be delivered for October and December for MSRP.
I am going to finalize my build and was curious on what the likelihood is on getting a discount from the dealer below the MSRP.
I heard this taking place across other trims for 2024

Best thing to do is ask.
Worst thing that can happen is the dealer says "no".
So you have nothing to lose, and much to gain.

My thoughts are we might see 2024 911's at MSRP with out ADM, not with discounts below MSRP. But when the 2025 992.2 hits we'll most likly be at ADM again. I'm waiting on a Base Cabriolet allocation and my dealership said 992 allocations are only trickle in. You mentioned other Trim levels are getting discounts, I haven't hreard of any 992 trim receiving a discount, which one's are you talking about? As someone mentioned it doesn't hurt to ask, please keep us posted on the out come.

Instead of asking for a discount, a question which triggers a different reaction in just about every sales person, I usually try to add stuff for free: winter tires, different wheels, warranty extension, PFF, or something from the Tequipment catalog like carbon trims, black insignia etc.
Blunt questions generate blunt answers. A better approach would be: "I like the car very much, and would be thrilled to own it but my wife does not like the aluminium trims. Would it be possible to switch those to carbon pre-delivery (for no additional cost)?"

Agreed. It will likely be difficult to get a discount off MSRP if you don't ask, you don't get. Since there is very little available new car inventory in Porsche sports cars discounts may be difficult as the dealers have no incentive to grant one as another customer will just pay up.
That said, I have seen dealers selling other brands are alo resisting discounts but granting back-door discounts. For example, over allowing on your trade-in (if you have one), adding accessories at no charge, service contract, or maintenance at a discount.
In my case, I was able to get the second-year maintenance at no charge on my 911. No idea what the actual dealer cost is for the second-year service so the dealer isn't giving up much gross profit.

Can always ask. In a cayenne/macan/panamera, its likely. In a 911 probably not.

At the present time I'm still seeing used vehicles going for either MSRP OR above MSRP. To me this says a discount on a new purchase is still a dream. I'm in the midwest - 911s are not necessarily abundant here so the market might be a bit tighter than coastal markets.

If Porsche continues to keep supply low they can avoid having to give discounts off of MSRP. I have been reading that luxury goods are dropping in demand. I have been trying to get a basic Rolex Datejust watch to give as a gift to someone who works for us, I have been to 6 Rolex dealers in two countries in the past week and they have nothing to sell even in these watches. One dealer had two women's Datejust watches, that was all. I read that the Rolex prices have dropped 20% since june on the watch index, and yet with nothing in the inventory to buy we will probably have to pay over MSRP in the grey market to get what we need.

The only way you will get a discount on a new Porsche is a car sitting on a lot, especially ones that are heavily optioned as they break over the Porsche Financial Lease ceilings. On an allocation, very, very doubtful that you can even get out for MSRP - ask about add-ons.

Negotiating discounts? People are actually getting allocations let's start there. I'm working with the wrong dealerships.

I have had a deposit for an allocation to build my dream 911C2S for a year. the dealer has offered a base and T allocation to me and recently a delivered 911S white with PDK, everything is at MSRP. but i am waiting for my dream build. I do see the market changing as car loans are now getting north of 8%, demand will fall as interest rates continue to go up.. I am shock that people finance 911s I understand leasing if you have business and will be expensing the lease but borrowing north of 8% to buy a portion of a car at 150K or over, just seems insane to me. I am happily going to pay msrp for my dream build but i imagine by the time i take delivery, new cars will be on the lot for less than msrp. I understand inflation will be baked into future MSRP. The money earmark for the car is earning 5.4% in short term T bills. I imagine the money will probably keep up with the inflation of future msrp, well maybe not after taxes. If porsche finance goes over 9% for loans it has to hit demand hard from the people who borrow. Just keep driving your current car! If i could get 9% non risk return I would just pass and keep driving my current porsche unless inflation went above 9%. Porsche is public company they cant keep supply low to game the market, its all about growth and CEO income tied to their market cap

Just picked up my 2024 Carrera T today. No discount on the MSRP but they did throw in some extras:
- PPF on front clip (did a great job)
- All Season Floormats
- Clear sidemarkers
- Keychain (the fabric loop one)
- Tee Shirt
- Umbrella
I can't complain!
