'24 992 GTS Config
Close to my freeze point; non-negotiables for me are manual, GTS interior...see config details here...trying to determine if the Burmester, PDCC, and RAS are really worth it. Have a '20 C2S today (PDK) w/o these options. Use will be non-daily "toy" with plans to track a few times a year.
Any feedback from folks who have these? Any other non-negotiables I should "check" off the configurator?

Like your priority with the GTS interior. Still working on my config and I’ve not selected PDCC. But going back and forth on the lightweight package, as the glass and lithium battery for some, seem to be prone to issues.

The Burmester system is decent (not amazing) but the difference from the Bose is relatively minimal when in motion. The road, engine, and tire noise are a lot to contend with, especially with the reduced insulation of the GTS. Ordering the lightweight and noise-insulated glass option will help, though. I’d only suggest adding the Burm if you got silver interior trim (part of the zero-cost leather trim inlay option) to match the silver door speaker grilles, and value having the best possible audio even considering diminishing marginal return for your dollar.
PDCC adds some weight/complexity and improves ride comfort while reducing body roll, at the expense of some feel closer to the car’s grip limits. I would skip it on a non-Targa unless maximized ride comfort/stability is a priority. Not sure if it would reduce lap times, either, though it might. It’s not offered on GT cars, which just go with stiff sway bars at the expense of ride comfort.
RAS is weight-neutral since it comes with a lighter Li-Ion battery to replace the standard lead-acid battery, virtually shortens the wheelbase of the car in tight corners, and virtually lengthens the wheelbase of the car in faster corners. That gives you more responsiveness and less understeer in low-speed cornering with more stability in high-speed cornering. The overall effect makes the 911 feel closer to a mid-engined car, and RAS is standard on GT cars for a reason. Your turning radius also gets much better, as a daily driving bonus. Unless you’re especially puristic about the 911’s traditional rear-engine dynamics (in which case you’d probably want an older car…), I’d recommend it.
Edit: Consider adding the Race-Tex roof lining (matches with the rest of your interior and used to be standard in 911s before the 992), and potentially the Race-Tex sun visors if you value them matching the headliner. You could also do without Power Steering Plus—the variable ratio is not needed for comfortable low-speed maneuvering.

Two options I go back over on my C2S that I wish I would have gone for: 1) Chalk though I do love my Gentian. and 2) Aerokit.

I have owned 3 991 with bose, last being a 991.2 GTS. When I purchased a 718 Spyder and Taycan Cross Turismo, made sure I ordered the Burmester system. The argument against is that the GTS and Spyder are too loud to appreciate. However, I find the distortion in the Bose at volumes required for listening at speed to be very harsh. The Burmester is able to overcome the ambient road noise with less distortion and thus I feel I can crank louder without being as harsh. I went ahead and ordered Burmester on my 992 GTS for same reason.
Also have the sound and noise insulating glass on the Taycan which is amazing. I saw a sport classic 911 with the lightweight glass. Its a dual layer glass on side windows at least, just like my taycan. That has been a very nice feature. I know the GTS has less sound insulation but the light weight glass still helps cut down on road noise. So I did that too. My 911 arrives in a month, have not driven with it yet.

PDCC was developed for top heavy SUV’s like the Cayenne and Macan. The 911 is not top heavy with flat 6 engine, driver and gas tank low on chassis. PDCC also has a maintenance requirement. PDCC requires RAS and together are a $5k option.
In addition, RAS (and lightweight package) comes with lithium battery. Search and read all the lithium battery threads in this forum.
If considering lightweight package, search and read the threads here concerning lightweight glass issues.
After you do the research, decide whether PDCC and RAS are worth $5k to you and whether you want lightweight glass.
Get extended range gas tank if not a 4 GTS. It is the best value option available and no brainer at $240.

If you like listening to music, get the Burmester and don't let the practicality bother you-the entire purchase is impractical. It is a big step up over the Bose and can be played loud at virtually no distortion if you are revving the car. Plus if there are times you are just cruising, the music sounds great.

Get the Burmester. I was 100% set on getting it but read too many posts on the forum saying how the Bose is almost as good, exhaust is too loud to enjoy it, etc. My friend also has a 992 S with Burmester and I've done side by side comparisons btw my Bose and his Burmester many times and Burmester is definitely better. Noticeably stronger bass, louder, etc. I've regretted not speccing it and have spent about $6K getting a Musicar system to upgrade my Bose. Yes, my aftermarket system does sound better than my friend's Burmester, but I had to install it and it has its quirks and I would have been fine w/ the stock Burmester.
RAS is also worth it in my opinion. The car lane changes at high speed exceptionally well and has come in handy when I've had to swerve to avoid someone cutting me off. The car felt super planted. The tight turning radius is very nice too when you have to make U turns in residential areas and other tight roads. Lots of people talk about issues with the LiOn battery that comes with RAS. I have had ZERO issues in 2 yrs and this included parking the car for a week+ on many occasions during the pandemic. Car has never had a problem starting up and battery has never come close to dying. I don't lock the car in the garage and I keep the key fob about 10 feet away and that seems to prevent the LiOn battery from draining.
Depending on where you live, I'd avoid lightweight glass. I'm in AZ where rock chips on the windshield are a fact of life. I've repaired two chips on my windshield already. Not sure if lightweight glass can even be repaired. It's probably a PITA to replace and seems more fragile than regular glass. If I still lived in Southern California, I wouldn't worry about it b/c I've never gotten a rock chip on my windshield when I drove there for 30 yrs. Here in AZ, I get about 3 rock chips/yr and have to replace windshields every other year on all my cars it seems.
Extended range gas tank is awesome and cheap. On long drives, I can get 700 miles per tank of gas. Crazy!
If you like the look of the aerokit rear wing and can spec it, definitely get it. It is a super expensive and PITA retrofit to do afterwards.

Also, there are plenty of threads about PDCC+RAS. There is no clear conclusion. I have PDCC+RAS and love the way my car handles. Wouldn't change a thing.

Great specification. I have a highly spec'd 2023 C2S daily driver that includes sport package, premium package with Bose, RAS, FAL, glass sunroof, full leather. PDK.. I would strongly recommend the RAS because of handling and turning radius. I do love the ventilated seats in the summer and on longer drives, but see you would have to change the seat material to get ventilation.
You may consider removing the sunroof if you have a budget constraint. I would forego the sunroof on my car if I did it over again. I tend to leave the shade closed a lot.
