Should I get new exhaust asap?
I'm getting a 992 T delivered this month and I'm trying to put together a list of things to do/purchase before the car gets here, one of which is getting an aftermarket exhaust.
If you knew for sure that you were gonna want a new exhaust, would you install it as soon as you get the car or would you get it a few weeks after you've lived with the stock exhaust so that you can fully appreciate the difference?
Thanks!

Wait a bit and decide then.

I think I'm looking for a different note altogether, but I think the valve controller sounds like something I might like too.
If I were getting an exhaust, would I need the controller still or is an aftermarket exhaust usually loud enough?

I disagree. First, expectations are (obviously) individual. Secondly, for just one example the valved Tubi straits are more than a marginal gain. If the gain were only marginal for all cat back centers, it wouldnt be big business.

Sounds like I might want just the valve controller or both so yeah I'll try the valve controller first.

Actually, should I just get a m engineering tuner at this point? https://flat6motorsports.com/product...era-ecu-tuning

So, opinions, even at an emotional level, will vary widely here. Given this, my approach was to wait through engine run in (that itself is contoversial enough) to address exhaust performance. Once that was done I though to start with the least invasive first. The cargraphic module is around $600 and takes about 30 min to install. It also alows you to return to stock in about the same time. A tune will not allow you to returrn to stock in an un-traceable way (TTBOMK). If the Cargraphic ios enough for you, stop there. In my case I feel there is a very big and positive change with the unit...particularly where we all drive it the most being the midrange. From here a Tubi valved straight-pipe center is next. It alows for a rowdy note valves open and a neighbor friendly valved closed option with the Cargraphic. It is about a $4500-$5000 upgrade from here and given the improvement I am enjoying with valve control am not sure it is worth the cost and effort.
Good luck and fun finding what makes YOU happy.

I just got my T one week ago. Drove it 10 miles to the detail shop for PPF and a few other things.
I thought about jumping on the JCR group buy and decided against it.
My process:
1. wait until I have a decent amount of seat time and then decide
2. same process with the tune and if I move forward, it will also open up the valves to 100% so wait for that mod
3. if sound and power are still not enough after 100% valves open with tune, get sport cats and upgrade to stage 2
Only after doing the above and still not being happy will I spend money on exhaust. PSE is very efficient and sounds great. Replacing it just to change the note seems like a poor use of funds. Opening valves as part of the tune and perhaps then sport cats that will also increase power is money much better spent IMO.

If you’re planning to tune, I’d hold off on the valve controller. Get thru break-in and then decide. You’ll appreciate each change more. If you are happy with the power then add the valve controller at anytime after break-in. Then you can decide on the exhaust as you start to hear different kinds in person.

My C2S is on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic right now, but I'm leaning towards (after break in) installing Soul sport cats and an M-Engineering tune and calling it a day. Just don't see enough bang for buck with a catback....

Mine is due in October. I'll be making a local appointment for ceramic/ppf, numeric shifter and **** (Road Trip), making some driving playlists for a few days of break in in the GA mountains, along with the triangle wing wind diffuser things.
