Did Porsche South Bay service dept rip me off?
So my 2020 Carrera S has 4300 miles, and I've had it since new. The dash recently reminded me that I needed to take it in for its 3rd service, and so I did just as I did for its 1st and 2nd services. All of the work has been done by South Bay Porsche in LA.
I made the appointment for a "regular Porsche service" and dropped off the car in the morning. I got a call the next morning telling me that the car was done. When I went to pick up the car, the cashier handed me a bill saying $4700. I looked it over and they changed Brake Fluid ($400), changed the spark plugs ($1250), and performed a 40,000 service ($3040). Does this all track? It seems like they did a lot of work that isn't necessary for a car that has been plugged into a trickle charger for 98% of its life.

The invoice states “customer requested, spark plugs, or 4th annual service”.
If you agreed to that, not knowing the details, that sucks.
If you didn’t agree to it, I’d be talking to my service advisor.

Yes looked like they over did more items than you needed given your mileage. With the 992’s similar services have been inflated at dealers as they would always do for new late model versions .. it’s the cash cow. Just know your appropriate service needs prior to approving any work

Looks like they charged you dearly for brake fluid flush and plug change, then really F'd you royally by charging you three grand for an oil change and air/pollen filter changes. And what the hell is Frigi Fresh? This may set a record for the most egregious overcharge posted on Rennlist. Arguably, none of this was needed except for the oil change. But if you want to go by the book and the time elapsed, then yeah. But at that price? Wow. There's a lesson here and I suspect you have learned it.

That is crazy, after the first free service I will use Eurofed (Indy Shop) from now on. But if you think these bill is bad put an airplane in the shop for a phase inspection and see some real nickel and dimming by true professional bill padders.

You're car went into AI mode and told the staff "I'm a Carrera S and this F*cker never drives me. Make him consider selling to someone who'll appreciate."

You paid for a 4-year major service which includes plug change as well as the brake fluid flush that's on the two-year service (and thus on the 4-year service as well). What you needed was the three-year service which is just an oil change and a bunch of visual checks. I have a 3-year service scheduled for next week at dealer at a cost of $450 Can.
