Default 6 Month Review

I have my C2S manual for 6 months now and really like the car. I don't track the car, but I like to do some spirited driving on local backroads. I thought I would share my impressions:

Likes:
Workmanship is top notch. Everything feels tight and no rattles
18 way seats are the best seats I ever had. I can find numerous positions to drive and often change them up for a different experience.
Burmester radio is fabulous. I listened to a Bose in a Macan loaner and it can't compare.
The car handles like it is on rails.
2nd gear is my fun gear. Just touch the gas and the car jumps.
Really like the ability to have the navi screen on the 2 right gages and the mains screen showing my music.
Love having a 23.5 gallon gas tank.
Has native Spotify and I like the functionality of the Porsche navi system- so I have no need for CarPlay.

Dislikes (mostly design and engineering weaknesses):
Porsche subsecond clock cannot be read clearly at night
Steering wheel partially blocks the navi screen on the 2 right gages-very annoying to have to constantly move my head to see
Heated steering wheel is weak at best for me-seems like a crapshoot as some owners have no complaints
Ventilated seats are weak for me-also seems like a crapshoot as some owners have no complaints
Passenger seat strap doesn't work-lousy design.

Conclusions:
Porsche puts out a super car (as we all know), but they need to pay more attention to some of the smaller details.
Bottom line- I love this car.

Here is the little darling....

I think your analysis is quite accurate as the one thing I find a little frustrating with Porsche is some of their ergonomics. On my wife's Macan having to reach around the gear selector to push on the A/C is a small but little example. It seems that Porsche tries to put as many controls on every lever they have that it takes an inordinate amount of time to decipher and get used to all the fiddling needed to find things. The heated steering wheel is weak, the cruise control is too fussy, and I was surprised we did not have a locking gas door. There are other niggling areas, but like you the car is so fun to drive, gets terrific mileage ( much better than projected ) , is built so well and for us ( compared to our previous vehicles ) is so quiet we will soon be adding another to our garage space --- I have a Cayman GTS on order.

I ordered that Cayman with few features other than the full bucket seat and PDK , so I guess I won't have to worry about a heated steering wheel -------oh, dang , it is in the " Premium Package " so I guess I will have one weak link, ha!

Congrats! Glad you are enjoying your car.

With respect to rattles, my 992 is no different than any other car I have. It has rattles here and there from the gas tank rattle due to having the larger gas tank to regular door rattles and what not. Given how firm the suspension is it does not surprise me that my car rattles even when it had only about 5K miles.

Also, I'm surprised by your comment re: ventilated seats. I live in hot as ***** AZ and have found the seats to be amazing. In fact, even when it's 115-120 degrees out, after the initial cool down, I have to turn down the seat ventilation to the mid setting because it's too cold. Have you tried adjusting the bias on the ventilated seats? You can direct more air to the back or to the bottom cushion. Compared to other ventilated seats I've tried in other cars, the other cars don't even fell like they make any difference.

I kept reading about this, but I picked my car up this weekend and drove for a couple of hours before light this morning and I could read it just fine the whole time. Is yours completely dark? I’m pretty sure mine is illuminated.

The super luminova on the hands is basically dead. I backlit the clock via the PCM and it helped a bit-but still poor.

I was really disappointed as I have read numerous times how good the seat ventilation is.

same here in FL, seats are blowing cold! But how do you change bias?

Get your ventilated seats checked out. I'm in Houston where it feels like you're living in someone's crotch. The seats are so cold when on level 3 I can only take it for about 3 minutes before turning it down

What @eclou said. Same here in Naples, FL and same wind tunnel fan like effect from the ventilation in the seats. Works like a charm. Puts everything else that we have owned to shame for the sheer volume of air that is moving through the ventilated seats.

Re:seats

I’ve had 3 Porsches with ventilated seats (although not my 992 because it’s racetex).

I would describe any of them as moderately effective at best. In any case, I’ve driven with them on full for hours on end and never thought they were too cold.

My wife on the other hand would never ever set them to max because that’s way too cold. She has them on 1 or 2 (which to me is completely worthless) if she turns them on at all.

And we’re sitting in the same seats.

Point being, OP’s seats may be fine, but not everyone has the same expectations and preferences.

It might be interesting to know what people set their climate temp to. I’m usually at 68-69 and my wife is usually at 75-76. Agreeing on a temp for the house is a blast…

I set my thermostat to 67F to sleep and with the ceiling fan on full blast. I have had ventilated seats on all of my cars from Range Rover to Mercedes and nothing even comes close to how cold the ventilated seats are in the 18 ways on the 992. Its almost like you could make ice cream on these seats

Here you go... Didn't know this but also changes seat heating bias as well as ventilation bias:
