Default Windshield problems

I had a crack in the windshield on my 2021 911, filled out the insurance paperwork and took it to the dealer for replacement. Just got a call saying that the rubber and seal was bad and that the replacement of the window was thus a warranty item and no charge for the new one. Lucked out. If you have to replace the windshield you might want Porsche to check that before you go to another person to change it.

A lot of these 992s have faulty windshield sealant that turns to an oily goo. Mine started doing that and I've just tried avoiding to rub my towel over that area and it seems to not be getting worse. I'd rather not replace the windshield for as long as I can if I can avoid it.

Get it fixed; replacing windshields is BAU for workshops, you won’t notice and you get a nice new screen at zero cost.
