I couldn't agree more! A quiet horn can be frustrating, and it's essential to get the attention of other drivers on the road for safety. I can totally relate because I had the same issue with my car's horn. It felt way too feeble for my liking.
It's all about liberal horn usage when appropriate and/or preemptive for usage when necessary, not only the sound. I live in Atlanta and commute 20 miles to work and every single day I'm on my horn warning other drivers to stop their nonsense.
Lady in front of me putting on eyeliner weaving all over at 70mph......horn city.
Guy next to me on his phone weaving in and out of his and my lane......horn city.
Guy driving 20+mph faster than traffic cutting everyone off almost causing an accident....horn city.
Same people almost every day doing the same thing, they are just used to me at this point thinking "I need to drive for a few minutes until this guy (Me) passes and back on the phone, doing makeup, reading book, FaceTiming friends, etc". It works and why you almost never see accidents in NYC even though no-one drives in the lanes, they communicate through their horns and it's all understood.

So, I took the plunge and got myself a wireless air horn gun that can deliver a powerful, attention-grabbing sound. And let me tell you, it's been a right decision! The best part is it's super convenient, as it can be controlled remotely, and I haven't faced any connection issues. Now, I get the powerful signal sound I was after, and I definitely don't go unnoticed on the roads. It's been a fantastic upgrade!
Tbh, I have never been fond of using a horn. If you have time to use the horn most of the time you have time for something else instead and I don't feel it is productive and ends up making people angry or unsettled.
Only time I use it is a gentle toot when the person in front of me forgets to go at the light.
Then again I don't drive a lot or in heavy traffic so maybe I don't feel the need.
Here's a fun little project that I put together. My wife will NOT (knowingly) allow me to place it in any of our cars. But it does work really, really well! LOL

Drive defensively such that you don't need to use the horn, or rarely. Also, at least where I live, blasting a train horn at someone promotes road rage.
Lived without a horn on my 997 for years and all was fine up until one day someone started backing up in a parking lot and didn’t see me and bumped me before I could make a move. Nothing major happened but then and there I knew a horn of some sort was necessary. I ended up replacing the horns on the 997 back then and one has recently failed so I’m going to move onto the hella setup. I used them on my Land Cruiser and couldn’t be happier. Loud enough to get noticed but not train horn loud.
This whole train horn thing is pretty interesting. I can't decide if it's a "wolf in sheep's clothing" situation (super loud horn on a fancy car) or a way to "toot your own horn" (be a little more noticeable on the road).Personally, I'm a little worried about startling other drivers, especially with a Ryobi train horn (powerful aftermarket horn brand) . But hey, to each their own!
For those of you rocking the train horns, have you found them helpful at all? Do they ever cause any issues with other drivers or law enforcement?
