Regarding the softer ride... in addition to it having PASM, not SPASM, what tires were on the car?

From the photo it looks like it may be the Continental ProContact? If so, I'm pretty sure that is an all-season tire. It will have been specifically designed for a compliant and smooth ride, not sharp, performance-focused handling.

I'd bet that has more impact on ride than the suspension difference from PASM to SPASM.

1. it's not super loud. could do without the pops and backfire. would prefer more turbo or general mechanical sounds over straight exhaust
2. i have SPASM and PDCC on my 4S. very nice ride and i always have it in sport suspension. can really feel it tighten up when getting on it.
3. the pdk is best in sport or sport+. i have my individual mode set to sport+ then put in manual mode. don't shift gears mid corner, let alone when the wheel is turned so far. woudl you shift gears in a manual when the wheel is turned so far? takes a hand off the wheel and upsets the balance.
4. the camera system is suprisingly bad. i was shocked. WTF indeed
5. bose is good enough for me
6. other than the intial set up i almost never touch the infotainment. straigh to android auto. honestly no manufacturer should waste time on this outside of general settings. i don't need weather, calendar, games, etc.

TIL if you don't have surround view, the rear view camera sucks. My advice to all: get surround view. It's part of premium pak, and it's one of the best such systems I've used.

I don't notice an issue with my rearview camera. It seems about the same as my Audi S6. I do have surround view.

SPASM should be lower, not necessarily stiffer. If your rental has sport chrono with the dynamic suspension it should ride similarly, just higher.

I have burmester, can't comment on bose.

I like my PDK but it's a semi-daily. If it was a toy I'd have manual.

Just over 350 per day with the Turo fees. There were other 992s on Turo that were both more and less expensive. Also the Turo fees are a crapshoot. Sometimes it kills the deal because it doubles the rental price.

Everyone has differing opinions on ride quality differences between the two suspensions. But I will say that I did some reading and found that the spring rates and sway bars are both stiffer

Spring rates:

PASM
Front: 3kg/mm
Rear: 7.3kg/mm

PASM with sport suspension
Front: 4.8 kg/mm 60% stiffer
Rear: 12.8 kg/mm 75% stiffer
