Another price increase - 4 to 8%

And in China, to sell luxury goods, you have to have the marketing cachet behind it. I would fully expect Porsche to start selling Porsche branded perfume; handbags; suits; jewelry; shoes; stuffed panda bears, etc - to start building the idea that Porsche is a general luxury brand, that also happens to sell cars in its product portfolio. Part of that is price - a newly-minted wealthy Chinese person is going to look at the price difference between a Ferrari and Porsche and think, "Why is the Porsche so much cheaper? Is it because it's a crappier product?"
So that's why Porsche needs price parity. And from their point of view, suppose I raise prices by 50%, but only suffer a 25% loss in sales. That means in the end, I'm still ahead.

Well, the China angle is simple - China is going all EV even faster than the EU and USA. And when that happens, what's an EV 911? All the decades of engineering for the boxer engine, the rear engine chassis, everything else that makes a 911 unique - is all gone. It just becomes a brand at that point, a souped up golf cart just like every other EV.

Their Dealers have been getting ADM's of $15K to 100K ,depending on the model, for taking an order and production capacity may be maxed.
If things cool down world wide, and production exceeds demand, they can always roll back prices, offer incentives, include more standard features, have de-contented models, etc.

Porsche made numerous small changes in the 2023 options in the configurator to mask the price increases. Example: locking lug nuts were included in price of wheels in 2022. In 2023, wheels same price but locking lugs are now an additional option at an additional cost.

Agree. The only Rolexes that are in the local stores are gutted display pieces. There are a few actual watches, but none of the ones that are in demand. The waiting list is still months long, and when your name gets called, the buyer has 24 hours to pay MSRP.

And to think I balked at MSRP, begrudgingly paying it. Glad I didn't pass up the opportunity. With the pricing coming on a model with no changes since 2022, I don't see how used values go appreciably south. As I said after the first hike....Extended warranty here I come! I don't see myself trading for the same car at a higher price or going hybrid ever so....looks like a keeper
