Default Default Sport Mode for 992?

H Guys,

Just took delivery of my 992. Anyone know how to set the car so that it defaults to sport mode every time you start the car? It's just too much work to manually set it each time I get in the car. Has ChatGPT solved this yet?

cheers,
L76

Can you map the individual button to sport mode? I got the sport steering wheel to make it easy.

It will default to Normal every time. It's likely that way to help meet the emissions requirements. I agree that it is not my preference, but likely less of a negative than the alternative measure they would take to meet those standards. But, honestly, it is too much work for you to spin the selector each time? I immediately spin to Individual when I start the car and then spin to Sport when she warms up. It's about the same amount of effort required for me to close, my garage door or change the radio station.

Too much work to manually turn the **** to sport and the distracting red LEDs on your dash-what next?? Maybe the stitching on the steering wheel is too thick.....

Boy... tough crowd

Although it is really easy to just turn the ****, I also get the OP's interest in being able to set the default driving mode.

No can do. ChatGPT won’t help, it may help you search though

wow. shots fired!!!

In the OP's defense, I was wondering the same thing.

It's not about how hard it is to manually turn the ****, it's more about feature-functionality. Why aren't the car settings saved along with the seat and mirror memory settings? It seems like an oversight tbh.

True but this is a question that has been well covered here in the 3+ years since the 992 was released.

every modern car with "modes" I have driven is like this. they always start in normal/comfort and you have to toggle a switch or twist a dial to get it in full performance mode. I'm guessing it has to do with emissions, or maybe when someone unfamiliar drives the car they aren't throw in the "deep end". I never found it to be a real issue. twist and shout, as they say.

Not w/o a tune. OTOH, default normal is good for keeping the revs down until oil temp is good.
